Name that comedy! Mocking or what?

Groucho Max? Who did he mock? The running gag was his stockin-trade, but ridicule? Nah.

When didn’t name calling become the height of comedy?

I don't like to write this, but I do think American humor as a form of entertainment, generally, is dead. It seems that most people laugh out of embarrassment. Is body part, bodily function humor that funny? How many crotch jokes have to be heard before anyone says enough?

How about witty risqué like this:

Nora: "I read you were shot five times in the tabloids."

Nick: "It's not true. He didn't come anywhere near my tabloids."

Is it a comedian's job to 'mock'?

The greats never mocked anyone that I can think of. Can you?

Isn't it amazing that Christopher Reeves is still the face of the 'Man of Steel.' His image is iconic, and sadly, has to be overwhelmed by someone else for another Superman to truly succeed.
