I think the SAFC result is more of a reflection on how much Bolton raise their game against us than anything else. They have a long unbeaten run against us and they know it.

Now is not really the time to turn on the manager. He won't get sacked now and Gollivan would (quite rightly) be heavily criticised for doing so it this stage in the season. Interesting to see how fickle some fans are though. Just who would we get to replace Zola and Clarke anyway?

What's needed in our squad is a right royal rollocking of the players not pulling their weight and a restructure of the starting lineup, the first change being Daprela on for Spector. I have lost count of the times Spector has been outpaced and outplayed in the LB position this season.

The tendency during difficult financial times is to wish for a buy, any buyer, to come along and bail us out. But I think beggars can be choosers as we need to remember that our next owners are probably going to be here for at least a few years so Straumur need to choose them carefully. They would do our club image as more harm than good and wouldn't necessarily put us in a strong financial position IMO. If it goes ahead then for the sake of my committment to West Ham I will support the move. But I would much rather see BG restore his lost millions and buy us back!!

The whole thing about them being West Ham fans is no doubt a PR stunt. The thing they really care about is money and they would expect a return for their investment in West Ham. The only difference here between them and a faceless billionaire is that the billionaire would be willing to pour some money into the team first. We don't know exactly what their investment plans would be so therefore we have no idea how beneficial it would be to West Ham to have these guys as owners.

Also they don't exactly bring with them a great public image. After Sheff Utd needlessly dragged our clubs name through the mud we need someone who will restore it back to it's usual clean self. Under such circumstances a porn king and the co-owner of Ann Summers wouldn't be prime candidates for the job. Not to mention the corruption allegations and there unpopulartity amongst Brum fans.

I am going to go against the grain a bit here and say that I am uncertain of this move.

Granted our financial position seems to be a bad one if the papers are to be believed, although it wasn't all that long ago that Duxbury was telling us that everything was stable and there was no chance of administration.

Gold and Sullivan may provide more financial stability, or maybe not. It depends on how much money they are willing to pour into the club and how much will be left over after the takeover for buying players. They weren't exactly big spenders at Birmingham and most Brum fans don't like them much. All they really did was turn them into a yoyo club. I want to preserve West Ham's traditions as much as the next fan but I don't want to see our status suffer.

But there other things to consider than money, even though our financial position is bad and I don't think we should hit the panic button and go with Gold and Sullivan on the basis of 'beggars can't be choosers'.
