Tom, was their a noticeable difference in the backside/frontside ride as the larger fin came closer/away from the wave?

RE: laying the sail down - the sail is laid down only when riding bigger, faster waves. James doesn't have time to lay the sail down for the shallow turns on small waves - his technique is pretty good.

This is still a great time to practice moving the hands back and forward on the boom, however.
