And your notion that homosexuality has an evolutionary funcion is counter-intuitive. It did, however, make me laugh. Thanks! I needed that!

Cannibalism is also prevalent in many creatures. Occurance in nature does not relate to morality in humans.

Ok, I'll take you at your word you did not imply, but here is what you said:
"Except of course for the evidence that male homosexuality has a strong genetic component.".

So let's mine your writings for clear statements of fact:

1. There is research going on to explore a genetic link to homosexuality.
2. There is "strong evidence" that male homosexuality has a "strong" genetic component.

To prevent others from making my error and misinterpreting your message, please clarify by answering the following:

1. Is there also reasearch being conducted into whether there is a connection between environmental factors and homosexuality?
2. Is there evidence that tends to contradict the "strong evidence" of a gentic link?
3. Does science show that genetics is the cause of homosexuality?

Thanks for helping me and others from drawing false inferences from your posts.

An honest assessment is that the science is not clear. You imply that clear and indisputable evidence exists for a Nature NOT Nurture explanation exists.

Please cite the study. It seems to me that if this particular issue was as settled as you imply, there would have been NONSTOP coverage on the NBC channels and that the View would still be talking about it. Sorry, but I suspect you're wrong or have been misled.

Have I mentioned a religous standpoint in my debate with you? I have been arguing this with logic and philosophy not theology. If you want to discuss theology of flaws in mankind, I'd have to break my policy of not using religion in my debates.

In the health care debate, we heard that doctors are doing unnecessary operations on victim patients to increase profits. The reports of child sexual predators in the ranks of teachers. Will you abandon the healthcare profession and public education because of the actions of these few?

Gay people don't want to turn others gay? Let's test this thought with a hypothetical.

For the sake of arguement, let's say that a scientific discovery in the field of DNA analysis allows pregnant parents to determing in advance if the unborn child will be gay.

In this hypothetical situation, do you think the mother should be permitted to have (the woman's right to choose) corrective surgery to correct the DNA or abort the gay embryo? This hypothetical would effectively eradicate homosexuality in a generation if your assumption is correct.

Be careful, the chick you pick up at the next bar might consider devouring the male after mating "natural" and a matter of her human rights.
