How then do you suggest we test for driving while intoxicated? Driving while high on Pot is OK? On the other hand, would you suggest some punishment for this crime? It is after all creating a risk for others whom share the roadway. Before you bring up drunk driving, I am in favor of charging people with assault with a deadly weapon and vehicular manslaughter even murder for drunk drivers who cause injury or death because of their crime. Those whom simply drive drunk and are apprehended before they have had an opportunity to kill or cause injury should be charged with attempt.

No, it is not a fair! That criminal has a debt to society and a debt to the victim; they chose to commit the crime. Release of criminals early is not the way for governments to save money. You can save money in the prison system by the elimination of unproductive programs paid for by the Tax Payer, the very people whom were the victims of the crimes they committed. If criminals are released early because of an attempt to save money then the officials whom authorize this act should be held as an accomplice for every crime that is committed by one of the released prisoners for the duration of the sentence that the criminal should have served.

The rights of the victim must always be considered. As an example is it fair, the victim of rape should have their life permanently damaged. The victim may never be able to have a relationship again, most likely will have to live out their life with the fear this event has created. Yet the criminal gets to go to college on the victims dime, serve out three years of a sentence then is released, often to repeat the crime

I often hear these liberal views on crime and punishment until the one with such a liberal view then becomes a victim of crime. It is quite a drastic change once this has occurred. The point of prison should be punishment. I have read several posts here one very fundamental element of this debate is the rights of the victims. Am I arguing the use of the death penalty for a minor crime as our polarizing plant has suggested, no I am not. For those whom have raped, tortured, and murdered children why yes I am. Why are so many people concerned with the rights of the criminal whom has already trampled on the rights of another, not because of the environment but by their own choice. We all have free will.

To what policies do you refer that will lead the United States into a new era of prosperity? Perhaps the idea the Government can take your personal property if it is deemed essential. Perhaps you feel the Government should have the ability to take control of your business if it feels you could pose a threat to the economic welfare of the US. Perhaps you feel the Government should provide for everyone’s welfare without regard to the contributions they make.
