OK, so - whoever you are, you’ve got it worked out. Well done, thats very clever of you. However, upon re-reading my post I realised I did make it rather obvious as to who it was. Thats cool because by naming me you have made my comment even more genuine. The attempt to discredit me (and my dear friend) doesn't really bother me either. I admit, I did smoke a fair bit of pot and I have kissed a total of 2 girls. But what can I say, it was university - crazy days! When this saga was brought to my attention I felt inclined to comment on it because I wanted to add more depth, truth and a bit of history to everyones claims about Pearls elaborate lies as they do seem rather far-fetched (I have no doubt as to their truth however). I felt that it was need as the time of some pretty important people was being wasted. I never knew she said anything unkind about me and I don’t really care what she has to say because lets face it- despite my flaws I’m a very genuine and honest person - unlike her. I am in the perfect position to have made this comment because Sian was more of a friend of a friend - so no moral obligation to be nice. The thing is, when you live in the public eye, like Pearl, people will comment. It may not be nice and, if you are disingenuous, people who know the truth will tell the truth. One needs to accept that if you live by the sward you die by the sward as I have with these accusing comments. This is why I don’t really mind what anyone has to say about me. I chose to make that comment and I’m fine with any implications it may have. Just don’t get my friends involved.
Oh and Sian, If you are reading this, I am not who you think I am - I'm a good friend of theirs though.
Hi Whaleoil, I'm loving following this - and so are my friends. You see, we all know Pearl (who we knew as Sian) at Otago University. She was studying law. However we only found this out after a series of entertaining and diabolical events which led us to doubt her claims that she was a 5th year med student. We did some digging, we found she was enrolled in law, and, as concerned friends, we approached her about this. No agenda. We just were worried about the elaborate things she did to construct these lies (stethoscope in car, volunteering as a medic on a university camp etc). We had the intention of helping her and even went to psychiatrist to find out the best way to tell her that "we knew". After we approached her she disappeared and we thought that would be the end. I did not know she would go this far. We have gone from being concerned about her to being thoroughly entertained by her as her continued lies is played out in the media and on the web (Thats an awful thing to say I know - It's just that I'm being honest here). The thing is that based on our experience we are not surprised by this extreme behavior. This is a continuation of what she was doing down in Dunedin back in early 2005. (Oh the stories we could tell!) To get the law involved and drag people into this mess for exposing the truth and having a little fun while doing it is just not fair. I'm glad you've been vindicated Whaleoil and I hope that after this island adventure people will stop wasting their time on her like we did.
