Like you, I too was a big fan of the show and I really miss it too. You are so right about nothing coming along since that quite matches the appeal it had. I wish something would. I also need to watch the finale again because I don't think I quite processed what happened. I think I too need closure. Great post, Amy. Thanks!

Good luck with your goals! I love read-a-thons, don't you? I'm glad you're out of your reading slump. =O)

I haven't started this series yet, but I want to. My dad really liked the first and second books. Great review, Michelle.

If I haven't said so before, I love your new layout. Hope all is well for you. Good luck in the IBBAs. I'm entered too...under adult fiction, historical fiction. :)

The book that took me the longest to read was The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I think I read it in 1998 or '99 and it took me about three or four months. I wasn't as prolific a reader back then as I am now. Not sure why. I've always loved to read. I've heard so many moms say they have no time to read, but ironically, I read more as a mother than I did when I wasn't one . I must be excellent at time management. LOL! Not really...I guess I just make more of a conscious effort now than I did when I was younger. Plus, book blogging helps.

Middlemarch is on my Classics Club list. I hope it doesn't take me that long to read it. I do realize that you did it that way on purpose though. Hey, nothing wrong with that. I'm taking the year to re-read Gone with the Wind.

Thanks for posting this. Very, very interesting. And go Sinclair Lewis...love that he declined. Way to tell 'em!

Great list, Melissa! We have a bunch of the same titles on our lists. I should have included some Shakespeare, but I might make that a separate personal challenge...or maybe I'll just add a few more to my list. ;O)

While I would recommend all of Anne Rice's books, her "Queen of the Damned" remains my favorite to this day. I've read it four times!

Thanks for the chance!
