Given Scottie Parker's comments in the press yesterday about West Ham feeling like home, and the fact that he signed a new 4 year contract earlier this season, the solution, should we go down, is blindingly obvious to me.

Lend him to Arsenal on a season long loan with a commitment that he could leave permanently, if we did not come straight back up and if he wanted to go.

That would mean: a) he would not have to move his family; b) he would get both Premier League, Champions League and (hopefully) on-going England experience; c) We would still own him but not need to pay his wages for the season; and d) We would be able to pull him back towards the end of the season, if we needed him, to help in the final push for re-promotion etc,

Anyone got a number for Brady or Gollivan so I can suggest this to them?

I am inclined to agree with you re the booing off of our own players. But I am more disappointed that LBM saw fit to respond to that which goaded the crowd on even more. As far as I am concerned, he should never pull on a West Ham shirt again.

The problem last night was not the players (well except for Boa Morte and, I am very sad to say, Ilunga), but the system. Or rather the lack of a clear one. With Dyer and Barrera both out there, it was screaming for 4-4-2 with them using their pace wide on the wings. Instead we line up trying to play 4-3-3, with Dyer too far back and too central to be effective at all and Piquionne completely out of sorts on the right wing).

I am now with other people on here in that I think Grant has one last chance on Saturday to start showing he knows what he is doing; otherwise I think he needs to go. Only problem it, I really don't know who I would even think of replacing him with.

On a positive note, I am with SkinnyChris on being extremely pleased to see Dyer last the full 90 minutes and Thank God for Scott Parker!

Sorry to disagree Roy, but I don't care if Noble spends the rest of the season anchored in the middle of the park as long as he keeps making the sort of passes which have been incisively openning up other teams so far this season. Alas the people on the other end of most of them (last night excepted) have not been able to finish the job.

I agree with chrischris. The only reason Parker isn't playing for England is because Capello doesn't really have a clue what he is doing. End of!

Racist, maybe not. But ignorant and insulting, definitely.

I am sorry Iain, but I think you may be letting your personal friendship get a little in the way of your judgement here.

I am not Jewish. But if I was, I would find this post more than just a little offensive.

I agree with all posters on here who say there was a lot to be positive about from Saturday, despite the loss.

For the first time in a long time we had real pace and width up the flanks in Dyer/Barerra: it is just a shame that we didn't still have either Franco or Ilan to get on the end of the chances they created; which I think were more numerous in 45 minutes than in any 90 I can remember from last season.

I also think we were looking pretty solid at the back until Upson was forced off (first 10 mins aside) and that Upson personally was having his best game for a long while. Just a shame that Davis' gamesmanship (it certainly wasn't sportsmanship) won out for them in the end.

Here's hoping we can nick a couple of points out of our next few really tough games without major loss of morale and then kick on from there.
