Great post Pete. I think I know a couple of the companies you are talking about.

I feel like there's another thing that happens to startup founders and that's where they grind and grind on the brink of failure but can succeed on the slow and steady path. This type of company is in a really awkward place in startup culture where you just aren't considered a success unless you are a success fast.

I think it would be really hard. I've just been coding in php and was trying to think of some way to make it work like __call, __get, __set, etc. I'll have to try it out and see what I can come up with.
