My thoughts:
Sarah Palin will cancel, not because she feels the center of attention will not be on her (it would be), or because she feels intimidated by the bona fides of some of the other speakers, but because she feels Carrie Prejean is purtier than she is.

Phyllis Schlafly has been a wonderful tool (ha) for pissing off my right-wing friends with her hypocrisy of making a career out of telling women not to have careers. I tell them that by their logic, she, along with Randall Terry, Alan Keyes, Dick Cheney, Peter Knight, etc. and their spouses must be horrible parents because if they weren't, their kids wouldn't have "turned" gay. When they object to that then I ask them, "So you're saying it's genetic and not influenced by bad parenting?" You can smell the synapses burn as they froth over that.

I feel bad for Glen Beck and Mitt Romney. Yes, everyone will wildly clap and cheer for them, ask for autographs, etc., but as soon as they get off the stage, everyone will be saying, "Oh, the poor dear. I'll pray for him." Which translated from conservative Christian talk means, "He's not a true Christian like the rest of us."

You silly. All the founding fathers were right in line with the views of the headliners of this conference. Never mind the ugly little details that a lot of them were Deists or Paine actively hated religion, or Jefferson refuted the divinity of Christ. They would have fit right in so shut up! Just shut up! *Sticks fingers in ears* I CAN'T HEEEEEAR YOOOOOOOU! Nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh!

The preceding has been a dramatic re-enactment of how the conference attendees and spokespeople would react if presented with the facts. Had this been an actual encounter with one of them, blood would pour from every orifice of your body as your head imploded from the illogic of their statements, but this was only a test.

Kadaka, I'm sure within just a few minutes, I can find video of Victoria Jackson telling Pat Robertson what a great guy he is or how great CBN or the 700 club is, etc., and then within another few minutes, a list of all the horrible things Pat Robertson has done (often in the name of Christianity) including being friends with then (since deposed) brutal dictator Charles Taylor so the gold mining Pat invested in in Taylor's country of Liberia could continue to line their pockets. Jackson is essentially saying that Obama is the next Hitler, but she's the one hanging out with people who want to protect people who more closely fall into the "like Hitler" category.

If she's going to make herself out to be so much morally superior than the rest of us, then she needs to get her ducks in a row and maybe spend a little more time researching the people she does swoon over otherwise, it's just another example of the hypocrisy infesting the conservative side of politics, and there sure is a lot of it.

Snarky doesn't necessarily mean not true, cupcake.

Victoria, I'm going to assume that you were upset about Terri Schiavo in Florida when that whole debacle was going on. And I'm sure even with your supposed hatred of politics, you were right behind George W. Bush and the republicans who were intruding in a private family matter to keep Terri's life-support from being disconnected. I imagine that you probably ranted and raved (maybe not in a blog) about those evil liberals pushing euthanasia down the throat of the American people. Did you ever rant and rave about George W. Bush who as governor of Texas signed into law a bill that lets hospitals, and not loved ones of a patient, have ultimate authority over stopping treatment if they deem it inappropriate (this includes staying on life support)? Another famous republican, Tom Delay, stuck his nose into the Schiavo family business as well. I'm sure you swooned over his righteousness, standing up to those mean ol' liberals. Did you know that he was in the exact same situation as Terri's family was in concerning his father, and he and his family chose to end life support? Will you condemn these men now, or will you prove that you're nothing more than another political hack, carrying water for conservatives, who as long as they say what you want to hear, it doesn't matter what they actually do?

Knowing how much you like to go on the 700 Club with "Christian" charlatan Pat Robertson, I think I know my answer.
