This morning, I read my previous comment concerning this article, then I reread; Sensei- Mitra Bishop's article. I then read Chris Brown's entire 6 page article. Unlike Mr "Louis Mitsunen Nordstrom" I have no formal education from which to speak; so you may want to take my opinion in stride. Based upon my reading Chip Brown's article; by way of Mr Nordstrom's biography; Mr Brown seeks to emphasizes the dichotomy between various traditional Zen Buddhist methodologies; which may themselves, suggest the need for some scrutiny; as may pertain to contradictions between authority, principle and practice; juxtaposed to western psychoanalytical models and the never ending practice of regurgitating the past. Based entirely on the article; I remain completely skeptical (with all due respect) as to whether Mr Brown, or his therapist have truly plumbed the depth of MR Nordstrom's travails. Speaking for myself, it's hard for an old dog to learn new tricks.
I personally empathize with all sentient beings. I believe "ignorance is the root of all suffering." I believe, a proper understanding, and a proper orientation towards life and other beings is everything. I may be crazy; but my definition of sanity is the cultivated ability to distinguish reality from illusion. I have a close friend who say's he has a chemical imbalance. How could that inhibit human understanding? It is easy to become confused as to what life is about; for instance normative society is overwhelmed by cognitive illusions which mimic the shape and substance of reality, producing its own force and power while pressuring conformity. Human beings are beset on every side by the many forms, allures and glitter all produced with smoke and mirrors. Someday humanity will cross a threshold to a more complete understanding of it's own existence.

I'm not Buddhist, and I have not started the practice of meditation, so I suppose I can't speak of it's benefits. Both articles are very interesting, and thought provoking.
Thanks, TMC

I only have my limited human authority with which to speak here; and I'm late for my first serious practice. Isn't "Louis Mitsunen Nordstrom" "Louis Mitsunen Nordstrom's" business. "He who speaks does not know; because he who knows does not speak." "thou art that I am that."
Thanks for the article. I have go now. TMC

Speaking from a position of little authority on the subject of "Buddhist thought"; In my humble and some what primitive understanding, the activity "the sexual act" itself is a motor function. The "desire" which supersedes the act is the subject in question here. In my humble opinion, there is only one reality, and there is only one true path. Each individual person is on a singular path. For an individual right mindfulness, means right understanding of the path that I am on; and a proper orientation to the world in that regard. You can't just take a person out of the context of their individual lives and say here this is where you are supposed to be. I have to go now. I hope this helps in some way. Thanks for the article José.
