Remote areas in general need coverage - it's called progress. The San Juan Islands are ridiculous for cell coverage. And talk about REMOTE! No hospital ANYWHERE in the islands. Every serious injury is a helicopter transport and TIME CRITICAL. But do you think the island residents will support cell towers TO SAVE A LIFE? It's all about environment, not lives. Do you think the cell companies are rushing to install towers to SAVE A LIFE? It's all about money, not lives. Adults have died due to lack of cell service to call emergency services---but only when a child or 2 dies and the outrage starts will it become important.
KOMO! You posted her WHOLE NAME on the internet and her birthdate - you told everyone she's 15 andit doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the year! Plus, a picture! Wow! How about Joel Moreno (the writer) post HIS PERSONAL INFO for everyone to see?
Iilegal aliens can get a driver's license - there is nothing illegal about having a driver's license when you're an illegal alien - isn't that wierd? It's illegal to be in the coutry, but...you can drive!
MomOf2 Cubs: The news reporter reported that she was a Prof - she wasn't bragging about it. How about a little compassion here? Wow. You are harsh! We never know what we'd do until we're faced with a "situation." I believe she did a good job - since she and her nieces are ALIVE.
Like your post, Alaska316! Having lived in Alaska for 18 years, I believe bear encounters stop one's brain and in ya go to "fear mode." Until you've actually had a bear's yellow teeth and putrid breath in your face, and heard the terrifying grunts the bear makes "up close and personal," and seen the paws with claws as long as Edward Scissorhands...
SOOOOOOO glad she's alive!
These guys should stop protesting and start clowning around!
Love the photo! Love the story!
Officer Shandy Cobane should change his name to "Shady" Cobane. The attorneys likely got 40% - that's the going rate for sticking your expertise out on the line for free. It takes a lot of time to put together a case like this. I'm so suprised that the ELECTED PROSECUTOR did not file charges against the officer who assaulted his fellow human being. Disclaimer: I am not an attorney, Hispanic, nor have I ever sued anyone, and my Son-In-Law is a policeman (not in Seattle.) I'm just expressing my opinion.
Agree. You are so right, B-Vue Scott!
