I Completely agree with you, and correct me if I'm wrong...but I'm pretty sure Dev Team already has a jailbreak for 3.1, just because is not for people like me that use Windows, it doesn't mean it's not there and available! Thank you Dev Team YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!!!!! :)
