"had pitched very well with the Mets prior to the injury"..... 2007 is a LONG time ago.... has NOT pitched very well since the end of 2007. According to Maine, he had been throwing with pain for quite some time, however, it became unbearable last year. Bottom line is, we have seen this more often than not, and Maine is a very important piece of the puzzle. Bad starts will NOT help him, only hurt him.

You're right..... However, I don't take a sweep of the Giants as anything to take into consideration. Padres are bad.

Am I alone in feeling that John Maine really needs to grow up... and FAST! Enough of that dumb frustrated look on your face! Can John Maine just pitch a freaking game without losing control / confidence? I'm sick and tired of watching hitters lay off the slider (that he can't throw for strikes anymore) and sit on the FAT fastball!!!!! Its the same thing... over and over and over again, start after start after start.

The MOST frustrating thing about the Mets is (and has been) the fact that they can't seem to find a way to win the games that they are SUPPOSED to win. It just frustrates the hell out of me. Terrible series against a team that was struggling terribly. Makes no sense. None... whatsoever!
