I also thought it weird that 9-1-1 was not the first call made.

In response the comments suggesting the alternative outcomes had this family been armed (or able to get to their gun), I know a woman who shot two intruders (turned out to be armed teenagers). One of the intruders died. She was home alone with her two children. I am sure she did the right thing and would do it again if faced with the same situation but the havoc that it wreaked on their family is one that she is still dealing with a few years later. They lost their home. They basically had to be relocated for their safety. She also has had to face the surviving intruder and their family in court (the ones threatening her). Her children have been traumatized. I am thankful that the woman above will not have to deal with the aftermath of shooting the intruders and that she and her children are safe. She will certainly have plenty to deal with as it is. I wish them strength during this time.

Employees having access to their account is not the problem. The problem is that they didn't have the oversight. All adjustments should be a two-person process.

It is really sad that I forgot to mention the murder of a 75 year old in Poulsbo yesterday. With so much violence, this murder has practically flown under the radar. What does that say when the MURDER of a human being in our community is barely noticed?

Two murders in Sequim this week also and all this on the tails of the murder of Melody Brannon in Bremerton earlier this month. I don't think I recall a local "crime wave" quite like this...

While the reported story is that the gun when off accidentally in the backpack, that report may change.

Just because you don't understand, doesn't mean I am full of crap. Not all comments fit one mold. There are different styles of writing and when you come across one that you don't understand, just move on.

For instance, when you said you read every post, I have no idea if you are being sarcastic or not. So I pretty much decided not to respond to that part of your comment. See how easy that is?

Hmm, interesting. Did you see a comment on the Kitsap Sun that appears to be from a "friend of the dad"? This commenter says In short, boy lives with dad. Mom just recently got limited visits. Mom has boyfriend and I guess the kid must have got the gun while at his mom's house because the dad is loving and would not have allowed this to happen.

I heard lots of talk was going around the shipyard yesterday about this boy being troubled or coming from a troubled background.

I would be curious to see what more information comes out...

It appears with the latest information that the girl was shot in the arm and then the bullet traveled into her abdomen (missing all major organs).

Although she probably has future surgeries and a painful recovery, I am hopeful that she will make it through this...

I was listing things that could transpire that would lead to a shooting in a classroom. I was not jumping to any conclusion. As a matter of fact, it is quite the opposite. It was kinda like saying it could have been any number of things! THE POINT was that none of the ideas I could fathom were accidental. You will notice that the last sentence of that comment left room for the idea that the student may not have intended to harm his classmate.

I think about 14 hours ago, I pointed out that I am referring to this event in it's entirety while you are specifically referring to the shooting/discharge/intent to harm. LKS pointed it out the same about 10 hours ago and I am pretty sure you also came to that realization with your comment made 10 hours ago "While this "incident" was the culmination of a number of factors starting with his access to the gun and his choice to take it to school, the shooting itself still could have been a accident."

So Why have you posted at least three times regarding the gun going off in the backpack accidentally? Where in this entire string of comments do you see someone telling you that specific act of the gun going off could not be an accident? The only person talking about paranormal activities and backpacks shooting people is you.
