I prefer to have the power of electing my senators rather than my state government doing it. However, in order to protect states rights, a bonifide state representative would serve better for approving appointments, particularly of judges. Furthermore, the percentage of Americans who know the name of their governors is high than that of those who know the name of their senators. You have to know who your elected officials are inorder to keep track of their actions.

1. We need to institute a recall process for elected federal positions: President, Senators, and Representatives whereby they can be recalled by their constituents by a minimum 55-60% vote.
2. We also need an amendment to have appointed officials confirmed by the states with a single vote per state cast by the governor or in what way the state(s) proscribe. Direct election of senators has had the side effect of making them wholly federal creatures; this measure would restore an important protection of the 10th amendment.
3. We should also urge Congress to bring the projected disprepency between projected costs of entitlement programs and the revenue for them.
