Still waiting for the Autopsy to show that he was an overweight, angry guy that drank too much, slept too little and put making money off the idiots that believed his vitriol versus focusing more time and energy on his young children.

Guess since the unemployment rate dropped again, now down to 8.5%, as 200,000 jobs were added in December, that the deranged stream media needed to find another pointless "drama." So from the posts I am reading, apparently if you lose a child of 5 or 8 or 10 dies in the hospital, the norm is to take that child home and let family interact with the body? Wow...

The reality is Santorum, like the rest of the GOP field (except the Mormon candidates Romney and Huntsman) have far more serious issues to address, like ethics violations. Apparently while Mormons actually walk the walk, the evangelicals just talk the talk.

Unions are the CORE of the Middle class!!! The GREATEST Middle Class EVER created was the U.S. Middle Class post WWII on the back so f Union jobs and Union pay!!

To your point, you are correct that as we have eliminated Union jobs and shifted wealth to the very top, we have no more Middle Class...

In 1980 the Top 1% earned 9% of total US income....Today, the Top 1% earns 23% of total US income. Meanwhile the Average white male Middle Class worker has seen their income drop 10% during that same period.

And why is it that pointing out that Germany with the highest wages in the world prospering through the Global recession is a "B.S. talking point?"

Why do Conservatives see facts as B.S.?

14 years ago @ Big Government - Economists: Obama's Jo... · 0 replies · 0 points

Actually, no you are missing the point. I provided OBJECTIVE facts concerning legislation passed, ALL of which passed in his first two years except the Second extension of the "wealthy tax break."

What you are providing is Subjective statements, a veritable staple of the Conservative mindset and media.

Please provide specific legislation passed by Obama that you deem as Partisan, and I will gladly address each one individually.

Until then I defer to Matt Labash, Senior Writer at the Weekly Standard:

"Why have conservative media outlets like The Weekly Standard and FOX News Channel become more popular in recent years?"

[Matt Labash: "Because they feed the rage. We bring pain to the liberal media....While these hand-wringing Freedom Forum types talk about objectivity, the conservative media like to rap the liberal media on the knuckles for not being objective. We've created this cottage industry in which it pays to be un-objective ... It's a great way to have your cake and eat it too. Criticize other people for not being objective. Be as subjective as you want. It's a great little racket."

We don't need "rackets" we need bipartisan solutions like we had with Reagan/O'Neill and Clinton/Gingrich...

Partisan? Let's see since he's been in office, he has:

* Passed Healthcare that ended up being a DIRECT copy of the RNC plan for healthcare reform.
* Extended the 2003 Bush Tax cuts for the Top 2% TWICE
* Changed his Stimulus from 90% cash 10% Tax incentives, to a near 50 - 50 cash/tax breaks split because of the GOP (BTW, all those tax breaks did is make the last two years the most profitable on Corporate History while virtually NO hiring occurred in the U.S.)
* As Donald Rumsfled just said this week, "Obama has extended the Bush Doctrine in the Middle East." In what world does Partisanship include doing the same thing as the previous GOP President?
* He earned an F grade from the Top 6 Gun Control groups for signing 2 Executive Orders expanding Conceal and Carry rights on Federal Land. In what world does a "Partisan" Democrat advance gun availability?
* He just passed legislation taking Pollution Control BACK to 1997 levels, reversing a Pollution Bill passed by W and the GOP Congress. In what world does a partisan Democrat say "Pollute away????"

In WHAT F_CKING WORLD do these FACTS qualify as Rhetoric? In a haters world? Yep...

Look, if you hate the guy because he's a Democrat, or he's got a funny name or he's not the same color as you, than that's your deal. But get your facts straight about what is going on in the World.

The only people b-tching about Obama more than the far right is the far left!!!!!

Did you read the linked to story? Of course not! As for your 25M fewer jobs because of Unions, the Heritage Foundation would be ecstatic to know that their hundreds of millions of dollars spent "bashing the Middle Class to Save the Executive Class" is working!! WAKE UP! Germany has the highest per capita wages in the WORLD, and is highly Unionized and they have prospered through this Global Recession! While we are experiencing little to no GDP growth, Unionized and Regulated Countries like Germany have prospered.

Union bashing was started for one reason only, to break Unions to allow for Companies to more easily move jobs overseas, PERIOD! We grew bigger and faster than at any time in our History after WWII, during the peak of Unions and when tax rates on the Upper 1% were over 70% and Corporate tax rates were 46%!

Do Unions have issues? Of course, Unions are no different than families, there are always a couple dysfunctional individuals in the family. But your solution is that if there are a couple "bad apples" in the family, than we need to eliminate the entire family.

I appreciate you actually linking to the other story, often it's a link to some ad. I notice that it helped your cause to link to the story because so few of your readers actually link out. If they did, they would read this line in the story that sums it ALL up:

"Anything that would be of a big enough size to really help the labor market is going to have trouble getting through Congress," says Michael Hanson, senior economist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. "And anything that can get through Congress will be too small to be much help."

With 25M fewer Manufacturing jobs in the US than we had in 1980, our Recovery supporting jobs and industry are humming along in China. For every job opening that exists today there are over 4 people looking for jobs. That's a LOT of jobs to create out of thin air.

As long as the Right continues to support the policy of "let America fail so our Party benefits" it's not the President's fault, it's the idiots putting partisanship before Country.

Yep, from pushing wasteful spending on an unneeded Courthouse to using the Government credit card for personal charges, to having the home he had while serving in the Florida Senate in foreclosure, Rubio definitely exemplifies GOP "Talk it don't walk it" values these days...But to his credit, he plays both sides of the Social evangelical base by attending a Roman Catholic church while also attending an Evangelical Protestant Church...

I love the fabricated reality that the Con mind loves to conjure up! Nancy, while a fine woman, was the only First Lady I knew of that had an astrologer on the payroll.

And as a former Union President and champion for illegal aliens, Ronald Reagan showed many facets that seem to get white washed over by people grasping for the "good old days."

Get real. Taxes were higher under Reagan than they are today, Reagan passed legislation to close corporate tax loop holes in 1987, Reagan raised additional taxes, as well as backed gun control legislation as well as passing "Illegal alien passage to citizenship" legislation.

Quit being partisan and figure out that right now we need ACTION not rhetoric. And action is as simple as adopting the same taxation and fiscal policies practiced by the only President in our lifetime to reduce the debt while also growing the economy, Clinton.

No STUPID! Our Revenue was at a level that not only handled our Spending, but provided an environment where we had the longest peacetime economic expansion in our History, income growth across ALL economic strata and in a fact that totally blows holes in the "protect the Top 1%" foundation of the GOP, more Billionaires were created in the 90's than any other Decade!

As for your contention that this was the GOP Congress, why is it that SAME EXACT GOP MAJORITY Congress was in place for the first 6 years of W's term, and that same Congress went on a spending, debt raising spree???

The fact that you are so dim-witted that you use terms like Marxist, is a good indication that having a reasoned conversation with you is pointless.

So go back to your mindless ignorance and leave the solving of real world problems to those of us centered in the real world.

In the meantime, instead of pulling your pud to Breitbart, here's a simple exercise for you. Reagan tripled the US debt. W doubled the US debt and in 4 years, Bush Sr. added more to the US debt in 4 years than Clinton did in 8 years. Please provide for me the list of Democratic Presidents that have either tripled or doubled the US debt. Good Luck with that futile effort!

NO need to "look for a group to blame," there are too many groups, but as a whole they fall into the same camp.

In 2000 the CBO painted a picture of fiscal health based on the Clinton tax and spend policies. GOP Congressional members were falling all over themselves to issue "atta boy" press releases and statements about the $5T Budget surplus projection for 2000 - 2010 in the CBO report!!

In just 6 years under GOP control of the White House, House and Senate, that fiscal soundness was sold off with two unfunded tax cuts, 2 unfunded Wars and a trillion dollar unfunded Medicare Prescription Drug bill. Clinton went away, and the GOP went play, play, play. That is the reality.

As of today, 45% of the US debt is a direct result of those policy decisions from 2001 - 2006...Only $2.6T of the $14T is attributable to Obama to date, but to listen to the Tea Bag set, the $11T in US Debt that existed the day Obama took office, just magically appeared!

24 times under Reagan and W, the debt ceiling was increased. The GOP Leaders that did the same old tired GOP "Show" in saying they opposed the increase (Cantor, Boehner, McConnell) voted 5 times to increase the debt ceiling under W!! Jesus, W was the one that had to get an additional digit added to the debt clock to handle $10T!

Reagan TRIPLED the US debt. W DOUBLED the US debt. Obama is trying his d-mndest to emulate the fiscal responsibility of Clinton and all he has received is xenophobic, ignorance fueled opposition at every front.

We are past the time for Partisanship. If the Middle Class had seen their income nearly triple since 1980, while the Top 1% stagnated, than I'd be all over the Middle Class stepping up. That is not the case though...Trickle down has resulted in the Top 1% seeing their share of total income nearly triple since 1980, while the Middle Class has stagnated. Actually, the average white high school educated male in the Middle Class has seen their income go down 10% since 1980.

So time to close loop holes, time to go back to the same taxation policies we had under Clinton and time to put America before party.
