TJ, as always, a huge dollop of common sense! I know I'm often guilty of looking at nostalgia through rose tinted glasses, but I really don't remember 'school ' incidents like those we're often currently reading about, so obviously much of what you say has merit. Sad though, isn't it?

What on earth has happened to our young?? I once was witness to a drawing pin being left on my P6 teacher's chair, but that was straight out of The Beano - this incident is straight out of The Hammer House of Horror!

To quote his best mate, James May, " Yes, Clarkson is a Bellend, but he's no racist!". This story is pathetic, your proverbial storm in a tea cup. There was no malicious intent, and a sincere apology followed for a rhyme that any contemporary of Clarkson would also have learned as a child. Get over it - concentrate on genuine racism alive & well in our own country...

So, you get one of the best set of legs in the business & you stick her behind a desk - ITV management obviously went to the Ratner school of business. Also, 6 minutes of program, punctuated by 4 minutes of adverts, will never draw large audiences, no matter who's on the sofa... sorry... desk...
