The Chasse incident "was what it was" in that it's still a little vague as to who did what when.

The "shotgun" case on the other speaks volumes. He took that bean bag gun on to that platform for a reason, and it wasn't so that he could "talk it out." Why didn't any of teh other officers on seen see it as necessary to bring their beanbag weapons? And when it came down to taking action (actually laying hands on the perpetrator adn cuffing her) the weapon was a liability in that he could not let go of it in order to assist the other officer.

I thought that a 17-year old was shot. Why is there a picture of a 10-year old who's barely as tall as his snowboard?

Where's the 17-year old with the skittles and the hoody, and maybe some dreds and a little five o'clock shadow?

What I find so ironic about your comment is that Arlingtom literally IS a dump ("landfill") and Boardman literally IS full of pigs.

The hatfileds (and I don't mean Senator Mark) and mccoys had plenty of relatives too. Yes, I am aware of the situation in the brownest hole in Oregon (Steens, ever heard of it?) I still say he does not, and should not, get elected.

Hmmm, the article didn't mention that. I don't doubt it, seems like a large number PPB (and PFB) employees who find themselves under questionable circumstance suddeny retire medically. Thanks for the update. Do you remember hen this happened?

So, if he couldn't handle the jobby-job in PDX, how can he handle the late-nights, heavy-lifting, and stress of Wheeler County? Yes, I realize that Wheeler County has one assault a month (or whatever the stat is) but the Seriff (or deputy) out there must go "mano-a-mano" with these people as there is no such thing as a "second unit" unless OSP just happens to be within 30 miles on any given day.

Well Mac, the fact is it was widely held that Humphries would be running unopposed in this deal. My guess is that after Humphries filed there was a moment of, "Whoa, what the heck?" in Wheeler County.

I think that if it were ANYBODY else running, Deputy Garibay would have stood down. The fact that Garibay is involved at all tells me that he was asked to run specifically in opposition to Humphries.

Why is it always so easy to tell who the "pro-marijuana" guy is before the debate even starts?

"In Kentucky (Eastern Oregon), we ALL cousins." Humphries arrogance and lack of interpersonal skill and creative problem solving will hang him, if he gets elected at all in Wheeler.

I say, no way he gets elected. And if he tries any of that heavy-handed smack down cr@p he will be given a one-way Greyhound ticket west on I-84, even if he did grow up "round these parts.".

Portland may stand (understand?) that girl getting shot with the beanbag round, and his explanation may have flown with a Mult. Co. jury. But in "Oregon East" that girl would be some (judges, principals, business owners, atate troopers) daughter, and though she deserved to get cuffed and stuffed the "Wheelerites" won't go for his techno-gadget-based solution.

Have fun wasting $$$$$$ on this thing Chris, and I hope (sarcasm) that no one during this campaign hauls out any dirt that costs you your PPB job as well.

No, it won't. Sheriff, especially in "Oregon East" requires a couple of things called; discretion, charisma, humility, and tact. Humphries lacks all four. He will NOT get elected.
