This is so beautiful, it's like a song, flowing perfectly. This poem makes me so happy, it just proves to me that there are still people like myself who use poetry as a medium. I could just read it over and over again, the message of the poem just punches me in the face every time...Thank you for posting this, we need more political poetry in society today.

This almost brought me to tears.
It's like hearing my own pleading words for understanding, my own screams against the society which us poets have to face; a society built on norms that conclude that poetry simply is a dead form of "entertainment". If you don't fit the square society demands you to, you are thrown away. It is time for us poets to transform that square into a circle. :)

And I totally agree on Baudelaire, how sad it is that so many of our generation know nothing of him.

For my second "article" here on the comment factory, I posted a poem, as a hope of letting others know that poems and writing articles are both the same things; art. And art stands for something, no matter how abstract it might be. How nice it is to see someone else here with the same message :)

Thank you for writing this. It is absolutely beautiful, and the poem was just as beautiful. (:

You are, indeed, an inspiration. I love people who break stereotypes, and you certaintly do ;) What an awfull situation we are all facing, and this should also tell the Israeli government something; even their own people are suffering, not from the rockets of Hamas, but of their own unjust warfare.

I commend your bravery and strong character. Please, never stop speaking up; your words are important.

Israel does not want Hamas to become any bigger in their military because then they will be looked upon as the "loosers" of the conflict. An example are the 3 casualties that were stated as being killed by "friendly-fire". Whilst Hamas directly says that they stood behind the deaths, Israel states that it was in fact, some of their own that murdered them. Why protect a group they are fighting against? Because if the number of casualties from Israel are growing, that means Hamas and the palestinian people are growing stronger.

I agree that the statement I made about slaughter is a bit farfetched, it is not directly the truth, but when seeing images of bombed children on television...you get upset. It is human to go overboard for something you feel strongly about.

I think most people would say that the number of casualties from either side should cease to grow. But in order to do so, both sides must stop shooting, and right now it I believe that it is Israel that must cease their fire, as they are far more strong in their attacks than Hamas. Hamas was originally not an organisation created for attacking Israel, but after Intifada, I think they and many others had no other plan than to mobilize an "army", as they have no real military system that functions in order to protect the land they have left, and not be driven out of the country that was theirs to begin with. Yes, Hamas shoots a big number of rockets into Israel on a daily basis, but the impact they make are few....

Israel's attacks are not at all perfect, and it appears as though their interests are far more than to minimize casualties.
War does not EVER minimize casualties. No excuse can be made for Israels attacks on mosques and schools. Bombing a school does not appear as a step forward to stop Hamas' attacks at Israel, rather increase the urge for Hamas to avenge and to try even harder to make an impact on society. As mentioned above, not every Hamas member wants Israel abolished; many are positive to a national dialogue, if their country gets access to goods such as food and medical supplies.

If there is so mutch missing yusuf, why don't you fill it up for us? And can you really blame Hamas for violating the truce by smuggling weapons for instance, when they and their people are being shot at by F-16s? As for Hania, what is there to question? Of course weapons are going to be used against the occupations and not for internal conflicts - there are no room for internal conflicts when every Palestinian is being slaughtered one by one, they need to protect themselves, and the Ghandi way (no violence, even when facing it) seems to not have worked against Israel. Hania also states that he is keen on national dialogue, something which at least I have not heard from Israel. Why is it important to question Hania's statements, which only speak of wanting to preserve Palestine - because he is part of Hamas, the "terrorists"?

Read the title of the piece - Israel's war on Gaza, not Hamas' war. This is a one-sided war. 5+ Israelis killed against 500 + palestinians. The numbers speak for themselves.
