Great comment from a Sunderland article-

West Ham continued to dominate the game in the second half and at one stage put together a string of what seemed to be several hundred passes without Sunderland coming even close to sniffing the ball. At this stage we would have been better off sneaking our midfield off the park for a quick breather and replacing them with a set of police cones.

Hmmm lets look at Scott Parkers thoughts.........

Westham = Relegation Battle

Spuds = Champions League (probably more $$$)

What would you do!!!!

Parker gone by Tuesday night!!!

Good read SJ - competition for places always helps but the team does not need players who "go missing" in games I think mental toughness is the key. How often do you hear about the top 2 inches, in professional sport the players usually have all the technical capability but the really good ones have that little bit xtra.

People dont take on board how difficult a serious injury is to recover from, take physical and mental toll. Lets hope he plays in his perferred position - he will deliver the goods.

He is a good example of the effect a good captain can have on a team - at the WC he was outstanding and the rest followed to the best of their ability.

Its exactly what Westham has been missing since Lucas Neil left, someone to rally the troops towards a common goal - dont think Upson has it and not sure Parker does either but time will tell.
