Is "O" similar? Probably not. Nationalizing banks and car companies isn't a good start, though. Spending more in 6 months than the past 230+ YEARS isn't good either. Talk of reeducation, nationalized health care, and "fairness" over sound fiscal responsibility moves the alert and intelligent among us from concern to alarm. So, yeah, unless you're a blind follower of "hope and change", or a fascist, you're gonna be pretty alarmed right now.

You are a beam of light in an increasingly darker room. You honor Neda, her family, and freedom-loving people in Iran and in this country. Thank you for making her memory permanent. My hope is that her sacrifice will create freedom in her country and remind us of the value of freedom in our own. Great post! If only their moral leadership were commonplace today instead of just a nostalgic memory. If only character, honesty, and integrity were valued instead of special interests, political prowess, and the ability to pull the wool over the eyes of America's sheep.

Maybe one day (hopefully in 2012) such a leader will step up, relieve us of Carter #2, and once again lead America to greatness and class.

If you want to insult the last great President of the United States, that's okay. That's free speech, your right (at least until the current administration suspends it). The Bushes were fair, Clinton was cover-to-cover CYA, and don't even get me started about BHO. In less than 6 months they've nationalized the banks and half the car industry. They're giving business to their best supporters, the unions (which caused the GM demise in the first place). The proposed immigration reform, health care reform, and environmental ("cap and trade") will wipe out small business, and then all that will be left is government and your favorite coffee shop (after they get THEIR bailout).

But get your economics straight. Carter #1 was so bad at economics that economists had to create a new term: "stagflation", a mess that Reagan cleaned up. Carter also instituted the "Community Reinvestment Act", the REAL cause of the financial crisis we're in. CRA was expanded under Clinton (Fannie and Freddie) and forced on banks by groups like ACORN or pushed by bank execs like Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson (Dems who also worked for Fannie/Freddie AND served in Obama's campaign). Hmm ... see a pattern here??

That's right: a liberal re-distributionist housing scheme wrecked the world economy, and Reagan, Wayne, Lincoln, Washington, and all the other great American patriots are turning over in their graves. Carter #1, Clinton, Dodd, Frank, Schumer, their Socialist lackeys, and now Carter #2 (BHO) are the culprits. Keynesian spending is not going to correct the market, but it's a great way to help your buddies stay in power. Hopefully BHO is only Carter #2 (more stagflation and gas shortages) and not Roosevelt #3 (new, new, new deal), which left us with the 1930's. Additional "stimulus", bailouts, and these disastrous planned bills could set us back for a decade.

Excellent post! Some of us "racist, hillbilly, bible-beating bigots from Middle America" (according to a certain diva starlet) were afraid there were no sensible young people left in California. I was so happy to see you stick up for your beliefs and am proud to see you continue to stand up to the irrelevant venom coming from the left. You have values and class, which is why they hate you. You shouldn't have to face it, but we are moving into a time where real values are "out of style". The silent majority, we who are watching, know who the patriots are and who the real haters are.
