What I am impressed by is how outraged people are over something so minor and how often gay people use the word bigot. As a preacher Rick Warren represents the bible, which cleary states homosexuality is wrong. Your anger should not be directed at Obama or Warren it should be directed toward the Author of the bible. Maybe Obama should have chosen a preacher who doesn't believe in the bible. He does't have to good of luck with peachers :)

I apoligize to anyone I have offended. I do not hate or even dislike anyone because they are gay. I do believe that everyone should have equal rights. If two people regardless of sexual orientation have decided to spend thier lives together they should have the same basic rights anyone else has in terms of health and well=being. But I ask you all to not return evil for evil by slandering this man Obama chose to say a prayer at the inauguration he is not going to be making any decisions for this country single handedly, this is still a democracy although sometimes I wonder. I too represent a cause that is hindered by predjudice so I do understand your plight and I will support you in aquiring those rights you seek and deserve. Duane, Im not sure if you statement was directed to me or not but it could have been. If you do not think that the legalization of cannabis should be a national issue then you are sadly mistaken.

Now the title of this message board is "What social causes and service organizations are you a part of that make a difference in your community?" not what do you think about Obamas choice of Rick Warren. Granted I have been posting messages relating to my beliefs and my condoning of the legalization of cannabis, but I believe my messages are relevant to the subject. This is something that will make a difference in every community when its implemented helping people from all walks of life without discrimination and I am part of a social cause though not just in my community. So maybe you could consider finding a forum titled "What do you think about Obamas choice in Rick Warren" to post your comments. Or mention the social causes and service organizations you are part of instead.

Ive read about 100 post about how many of you are dissappointed about Obamas choice in Rick Warren but I cant see the relevance of that to this thread. You accuse Rick of being a bigot but his religion clearly states that homosexuallity is wrong. I also believe it is wrong, for reasons that seem so obvious to me. Im not being judgmental I also struggle with lust among other things that I find myself doing that I dont believe are right. I dont hate homosexuals but I dont believe in gay marriage either. So just because someone doesnt believe in gay marriage doesnt make them a bigot.

This is my cause and because of the misinformation of one man the entire country has had to continue to needlessly suffer the consequinces. The evidence is staggering the harms have been so exaggerated for so long it is still stuck in peoples minds. One of the arguments for making it illegal (which I imagine was a strong one at the time) was that it made black men think they were as good as whites. I wonder why they don't use that argument anymore. If you cant see that the only reason it is illegal is because of misconceptions like that one then you are blind. I keep repeating myself hoping someone will listen. Look at the evidence look at the story of why it was made illegal and then look at the results of the research in the past few years and tell me it should not be legalized. The legalization of marijuana will do more to strengthen and revive this country than probably all of the other social organizations combined. So its in you hands. How much longer must we wait. How can we allow one despicable man like Harry Anslinger to go on harming this country for so long despite the overwhelming evidence that he was so pitifully wrong??????????????????????
