Na engleskom mi moglo još kraće da se sroči: Completely changing the country you live in is a perfect excuse to reinvent yourself!

Why point to a site that points to another site which requires registration... all that to download one file.
If you're promoting a ripped version of an Android app/widget, why don't you make an effort and upload it to DropBox or something?

Here's a no-fuss download link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4747780/android/geniewidg...

Always be wary of links ending with a period (or comma).
Apparently, Wordpress mis-interpreted the link.

BTW, TAThome looks sexy althogh not necessarily consistent across widgets. Regardless, people will be happy using it and showing off, which is the most important I guess. ;-)

After designing the original Android UI it's nice to see TAT get to Android with their own product. I wonder if they'll go into developing more complex widgets or apps (like Email) or will stay within the simple-but-candy widgets domain.

Cute story. Even though I'm OK financially nor I have extra mouths to feed, I can identify with it.
You may want consider to postpone the gratification of owning a Nexus One. Even though G1 pales in comparison to N1, it's not that bad. I mean, the feeling of novelty will wear off after only month or two of extreme fun. ;-)

I'd like to make a game that leverages TeleNav as a real-world mapping provider.
Count me in!

I'm quite positive that Android tent will grow bigger the most quickly if web developers can convert their their know-how into Android applications without hassles. BONDI initiative sounds great and PhoneGap is slowly working towards implementing it.

Has anyone used BONDI reference implementation SDK and is willing to share impressions?

Ability to access message history would be greatly appreciated, i.e. necessary for most users.
Just as Jan-C., I too have a big issue with application not returning after selecting it from the notification bar. Apparently application has gone into logged out state since you need to start application and log in again. That's another usability bluff right there.

The application is a good start and it may be usable for some people, but there's more to go to live up the potential and a even more to go to say "the best IM app for mobile phones" (at what point it would make no sense to brag).

Cheers!

Hm.... perhaps there's an inherent culture clash between "left brained" hard-core (math) geeks and "right brained" free-thinking designers. You need a medium not a manager to reconcile that. ;-)

Jokes aside, how should competent designers be managed?

Could the issue with designers at Google be also accredited to the fact that there's no really any "grand" design vision... perhaps like there's one at places like Apple?

Cheers!

Do you think Google is not the place for visionary designs or user experiences?

That may be the case for Google Search pages but there's a ton more of Google services and products that are used to mine data and do all sorts of behind-the-scenes improvements (to the infrastructure and algorightms) to get better data on the advertising front. Such services and products, i.e. the entire can be somewhat improved from the UX perspective. I would say that there's definitely need to design and user experience innovation at Google.

A question might remain: How to please designers at Google who have other options when confronted with one too many creativity downers?

Cheers!
