A few people like DUB BREN above seem to have actually caught on to what is really going on, while the majority of people continue rabbiting on senselessly about eating and exercise. The two/three previous generations did a lot less exercise(for those who didnt take a bus, the average walk to work/factory was under half a mile) , ate a lot more fatty fried food and suffered from a lot more stress(WW1; The Depression; WW2; etc.) than we do, yet their rates of overweight and diabetes were much lower. Why? The simple fact is that overeating and lack of exercise have little or nothing to do with the problem. The answer is to be found in the growing and all pervasive use/manufacture of certain substances such as plastics, estrogen, various fertilizers and no doubt others we have still to hear about. The lack of control or investigation into the use of these substances is testament to both the general ignorance of the human race and the overwhelming greed and selfishness of certain influential individuals and organisations within it. The only exercise you need to solve this problem is that of the mental and ethical kind! WAKE UP!

Rubbish! More clumsy ladling of sectarian anti-Protestant drivel which unfortunately the Tele faithful dont seem to be able to get enough off! The protests were against the many abuses being routinely perpetrated by a totally corrupt church against the most vulnerable members of society! Stand up for the Protestants! Its a much better World because of them and their heroic rebellion against one of the most conservative and reactionary bastions of abuse in our society throughout the ages!

The Tele joins in like most other institutions in our so called "egalilterian" society, with yet another crudely fashioned snipe against the Protestant community. No wonder that an RC Republican acquaitance of mine admits that after an initial phase of smug satisfaction, he now finds the constant Prod baiting rather tiresome and even embarassing. It is no surprise that neutral visitors to N.Ireland routinely complain that they never get to hear the 'Protestant" side of the story! There is little chance that they ever will, given that it is routinely surpressed at birth. So much for our even handed media.

I dont want anyone to hate anyone! Im really a lover not a fighter, despite my background. I consider that most of my puny efforts are directed torwards enlightening people and reducing the possibility of hate. With less than 7% of Prods in it, not many Prods get love from the Orange Order either! Im fully aware of the fact that the Scots-Irish invented Irish Republicanism, but it was a more pure ideaology that the sectarian flavoured type which came to the fore during the 20th century. "Libertie, Egalitie, Fraternitie". Dev, Collins and the boys dont seem to have understood the last two words!

Politics aside, turning to the subject of your username, dont you agree that the best Irish BORN boxer of all time was James Archibald "Baby Face" McLarnin? Two time undisputed Welterweight Champion of the World!Rated second best Welterweight of all time by Bert Sugar of Ring magazine, second only to the great Sugar Ray Robinson.

My league standings are in no way a "simplistic view". They are the TRUTH. Moreover they represent an enormous amount of intense pain and suffering in our small community. As usual you are unable to accept this. You refuse to countenance anything that involves Republican guilt! Moreover, you fail to understand that an essential part of "moving on", as you call it, is a truth confronting process. Interesting and disturbing to see that you consider we have moved on when your community has overwhelmingly chosen to support the Party of Violence at the polls. Quite a few people would say we have actually moved backwards in some ways!

Wrong! I want everybody to love each other! However, we all have to walk across the fiery embersof the TRUTH to arrive at last on the amorous shores. Seems that the EXREPs(extreme Republicans) are unwilling to join us in our walk of faith. Seems they prefer to carry on with the Propaganda War against the Prod population. They have no wish to actually end the conflict! For them the conflict continues, it has simply moved on to a newer phase! No more killing of Prods, but lots of slagging them off in the best pseudo academic, internationalist didactic, fashion!

What can be more overtly biased than referring to your country as "A Catholic Nation"? How do you think it made Protestants feel at the time when they were about 26% of the Irish population? If you delve further I think you'll find that the Spanish American also made remarks about along the lines of a Catholic parliament for a Catholic people and that the RC church should be afforded preferential treatment, which it certainly was.
