I quite legally obtained a tax ID using my real identification. Then, I quite legally obtained a genuine EIN. I registered my business legally also. None of it was "under the table," nor did I use a fake ID or lie about who I am. I created a number of jobs, paid my employees on the books, matched their payroll contributions, and myself paid income taxes and self employment taxes, as well as collected a substantial amount of sales tax for the state.

How many jobs have you created for America? What have you contributed to the economy?

And if you are going to call me a criminal, I will ask you this: can you put your hand on your heart and swear on the lives of your family that you have never broken a law? Seriously, I would like an answer to this.

I was illegal the first 6 years I was here. I was aware that I was technically breaking the law, but you know what? I otherwise behaved myself. I started a business, obtained a tax ID, opened a bank account, paid income taxes, obtained a Employer Identification Number, took on employees (requiring them to fill out an I9 was a hoot), paid them disability and workers comp and paid all of the relevant payroll liabilities. My business was licensed, insured and bonded and property registered with the city. It's possible to do all of this as an illegal - the only thing you can't do is take a job with an employer. And even though I was paying into social security etc via my self employment taxes, I wasn't entitled to claim a single cent in return. I didn't mind.

There is no excuse for illegals not to pay taxes, even if they're paid cash in hand. In fact many do. Many, however, don't. Looking back, I don't see any good reason for people like me to be thrown out. I created 12 jobs and paid my way and kept my nose clean. I eventually got my green card through marriage and hope to become a citizen in the near future. There should be a way for people in similar circumstances to stay, provided they fulfill a certain criteria. No criminal record, pay taxes, run a business etc.

I just heard someone bitching that their "private property" is being thrown in a dumpster---like these Marxists have all of a sudden figured out the importance of private property. Now some woman is screaming "I hope your kids die" at the cops. Earlier I heard someone saying that the CBS chopper was having to leave because of all the other NYPD choppers in the air, and that this was obviously "police tactics to stop the media from reporting what was going on," as if all of a sudden the "corporate media' is their friend.
