The smell that reminds me of home is one from my neighbor's house when I was a little girl. When we children would play, their mother made us homemade tortillas and so when I smell that aroma now, it brings me back :)

To make our home more eco-friendly, we just purchased a compost pail. It's made of bamboo, so it's beautiful on the outside, but it has a plastic liner and a carbon filter inside the lid, so no smells while the pail is being filled. :) We keep in on our kitchen counter top, and when it's full, we take the veggie clippings, scraps, out to the compost pile outside. :)

I believe my biggest splurge was a leather chair with ottoman. As a young girl, I remember going to my parents friend's home and they had a well used (beloved) leather chair and ottoman like this next to their fireplace. I always thought it looked so comfortable and warm. The table with the lamp and pipes and tobacco beside it were so traditional. When we received some money for Christmas one year, I saw this as an opportunity to get that same piece to start my own comfortable tradition. :)

I love outdoor living...the breeze on my cheek, the sun on my shoulders, the fresh air, windchimes, birds singing, barking dogs, horses calling to each other! I work outdoors (farm and marketing) and I am so blessed at having these things to enjoy on a daily basis :)

I pamper myself with watching my favorite movies. One favorite that really sooths my soul is "Pride and Prejudice" (the newer version). The settings and costumes and language calm my spirit and I just love how calm it all is... :)

My favorite springtime flower is the California Poppy :)
