But, i honestly agree with him that what he did was what any one of us who were there fighting that day would have done if the circumstances allowed. We all loved, admired and looked up to josh and would have instantly without hesitation braved the fires of hell to save him. Specialist Hugo Mendoza died trying to do precisely that. Yes Sal is a super soldier that absolutely deserves the Blue Max but the real heroes that horrific day were SPC Hugo Mendoza and one of my best friends in the whole world SGT Joshua Brennan who gave everything in the hopes of helping those oppresed people in that horible Valley of death. I hope you get it Sal that after party in DC will be LEGENDARY!

Sal is a good friend of mine and a soldier that I served with in the same platoon in the Korengal. I have researched this plenty as I am very interested in the outcome and besides a blog saying he will be awarded it there is no concrete evidence of approval and for that matter I just asked him and (not uncommon that everyone else knows before you in the Army) he hasn't heard anything... so don't get too bent out of shape that the upper ups who have no concept of soldiers shoot it down. Sal is very uncommon to americans in general and is even uncommon in the service in that he is not a glory hog, honestly doesn't want a medal for doing the only thing he could do, and never wanted anything more than to be fighting shoulder to shoulder with his brothers.
