I've been playing Allods for several days now and have a few characters to level 10. If you decide to take the beta for a ride, at least get to 10 so you can open up the talent grids. This skill enhancement method is very different from other games.

At first glace most are saying it is a wow clone. After you play for a bit you'll realize it is not. It has several things in common with with wow and other mmos. That's just going to happen. It is an MMO after all. But you will find all sorts of differences that make Allods unique. They did away with radar for example. You have a tracking system that is much like a head's up display on a combat flight sim. Its pretty cool once you get used to it. Skill execution and limits are very different from wow, you can't just spam a spell in Allods, there are unique limits in place for each class. I actually like the limits. It makes fighting more tactical. You have to think for a change.

There are still some issues that scream beta and I hope that is all that is holding up these features. Missing features that really hurt are: No mounts yet, no click to report spammers, no click friends list to invite to party, no macros for emotes or 'heartstone'. Annoyances are there as well but as I said, I hope they will be added in the patches to come.

The go or no-go for this game, based on forum comments is going to be the prices in the game store. This is not a free game, it is a micro pay like most other so called free games on line. So far, gpotato has overpriced everything. This annoyance, if not corrected, will end Allods popularity very quickly when you compare it to Runes of Magic's store and daily sales, you will stick with ROM easily. ROM pays attention to what people what, discount it from time to time and even give double diamond days about once a month.
