Finally some feel good news that might lessen the sectarian divide.
Great job for setting a good example Mrs. Irvine.

Sectarianism is not a tool of your phantom British Imperialism for the control of Ireland. It is a symptom that society has degenerated and the inmates are running the asylum.

Let's go back to calling them Scots-Irish or Scotch-Irish. Doesn't seem to mind the cousins in the Appalachians.

Just proves no good deed goes unpunished. The officer should get a commendation for community relations building. What are the complaints for? The loyalists don't speak English already?
Ulster-Scots, what a hoot!. Since when did a dialect become a language?

NO , he did not deserve it. That's a terrible accident to happen to anybody. But just this week the was in the news a story about some Chinese tourist somewhere in Australia walking along checking her Facebook on her phone and stepped right off the pier into the harbor.

IF he was texting and this happened it is a horrible lesson to us all. I hope he recovers soon.

A great step in the right direction for the healing process between the two peoples and governments in the British Isles. Blood is thicker than water. After 100 years its time to recognize and remember the lost generation of men of Ireland, both North and South killed maimed and wounded in the War to End All Wars.
Hopefully this joint act by Cameron & Kenny will continue the reconciliation process between at the peoples of Ireland and with the U.K.
My grandfather and his brother were from Kildare. Grand Dad survived the horrors of the Front. But his brother my great uncle died at Delville Wood and is buried at a CWGC cemetery some where in France. And nothing left but a photograph.
Hopefully some of the money from the Libor fines or the national lottery can be used to sponsor trips for the neediest family members wishing to travel to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice..

If ever there was a case for a verdict of Capital Punishment this would be it.

Was he texting on a smart phone before he tripped?
