Obama is only one of our problems. Geithner and Beranke is the second and Congress is the third. We need to vote EVERY member of Congress out. That will pressure Obama to change his position on several things. Then we can work on pressuring Geithner and Beranke to resign. We must change Congress first. Pelosi, Reid< Durbin, Specter, Casey, Kennedy, Frank, etc: They all must go. Even Charlie "tax cheat" Rangle must go.
I can't argue with someone who thinks he knows it all. UPS has wanted to deliver mail for the last 20 years because we knew we could do it better and cheaper. SO myou really believe what they tell you? No wonder the USPS is so bad. Not paying taxes, not paying fuel and road taxes isn't taking money from Congress?? You have no idea how and what UPS does or wants. 100% of the population would have better mail service with UPS.
As a retired Supervisor for UPS I can tell you that the USPS will never make a profit. They don't have to. Congress always gives them what they need to operate. Very few people know that the USPS uses revenue from first class ( .42 stamps) to subsidize there parcel post business. Parcel post is in direct competition with UPS. While UPS must raise there rates to compete. Also, USPS pays no federal taxes, tax on fuel and no road/ fuel tax for the use of interstates and roads. There expense per employee is way below what UPS is. They are partners with Fedex also. So lets make the playing field fair. Give UPS, Fedex, USPS and any other major carrier the rights to deliver first class mail. The USPS can be eliminated at a huge tax savings for the American people, plus your mail service will imporve 1000%. The postmaster general can then find an honest job.
There are several things that bother me about this going to some ones home to protest. 1. If you want to protest, do so at the Corporate offices or branchs. Name calling and death threats just weaken the cause and you are labeled a kook. 2. If these were legal binding contracts then they must be honored. If anyone, Dodd, Geithner, Franks or whomever knew about these contracts or were a part of these contracts and they lied, then criminal proceedings should be started against them. 2. I detest AIG using public money for the bonuses, but we did loan them the money with no restrictions. 3. As much as I don't like AIG for what they did, I dislike even more the fact that the Obama Administration is now trying to limit salaries. The US Government is going to tell the private sector how much they can earn. Does anyone else see a big problem with this? This is only the begining Comrades!
The first principle is HonsetyOver the past 3 months and the last few days I am convinced that there may be, a handful, of politicans who have integrity and are somewhat honest. It is a very sad day when you can not trust any politican. We were honest when we voted for them. We were honest when we believed their many campaign speeches and promises. We are good, honest American citizens. God how I long for an honest Congressman or Senator. The first principle is honesty.Need we say more.
To control spending in DC we need to do several serious things. Freeze hiring, freeze all spending to 2008 levels, All members of Congress start paying 10% of their healthcare costs. They must also contribute 10% of their yearly salary to their pension. An independent citizens commission will review all earmarks and eliminate all pork projects. The Congress can't pass a budget until it has been completely reviewed ( every page read by members of Congress and the President). All staffs must be reduced by 15%. Introduce the fair tax and eliminate the IRS. Eliminate the Dept of Education, energy, eliminate OSHA, EPA, Combine the FBI, CIA and NSA into 1 agency with 1 director. Reduce the number of agencies in the Dept of Homeland Security. Eliminate all duplicate departments. Reduce the Presidents staff by 10%. These would make a great start.
