Was talking with a friend the other day and he reckoned Ireland now had a number of genuine, top World Class players. He asked me what I thought and I said I thought the following were worthy of the title:

1. Rob Kearney (I believe he is the best full back in the World)
2. Tommy Bowe (just about)
3. Brian O'Driscoll
4. Johnny Sexton (has improved steadily over the past 1-2 years)
5. Conor Murray (My own man of the match yesterday. Now one of the best scrum halfs in the World!)
6. Rory Best (Great scrummager and loose forward who regularly scores tries)
7. Cian Healy (same qualities as Best above)
7. Paul O'Connell
8. Sean O'Brien (great ball carrying loose forward)

Eight. Thats not bad, especially when you consider that the others are very close to achieving that superlative level. Now I guess I will have to wait until Sunday before no doubt having to eat my words! Or Not!

What do you think of my picks? Should I have included Heaslip or any of the others?

I believe artists should be subject to the same moral standards as the rest of us, dont you?

"artistic licence" >>>>> a decadent, meaningless, bourgeois concept! When artists handle real events they should endeavour to be true to the facts, not to mislead people.

"he is an artist" >>>>> I know, A con artist!

"I think this tells us all we need to know about you" >>>>> You seem to be denying the fact known to all of us here, that the extreme Republican and indeed Loyalist variants of politics, are invariably assimilated by their adherrents at a young age within the family environment. Thus the expression, "he comes from a well known Republican family". Im afraid this tells us more about you than me! It tells us that your understanding of the development of political divisions within our society is incomplete.

Regarding Bobby Sands, you seem to be saying that exposure to violent discrimination caused him to join an organisation(PIRA) which dealt out many, many times more murder, mutilation and misery to scores of equally innocent civilians! And you expect us to have sympathy for him. No chance! It seems he learnt nothing at all from his earlier experiences of discrimination except the realisation that he wanted to do even worse things to scores of other innocent people. I wonder why he never saw fit to write any poems about the scores of innocent people that he, as a PIRA Volunhteer, helped to murder in places like Enniskillen, La Mon, Teebane, Bayardo, Coleraine, Birmingham, Manchester, London, etc etc.

So, you became a Republican to stop ignorant bigots intimidating people. Difficult to understand given the ambivalent attitude that many Republicans at the time had to those engaged in terrorising innocent people!

You sound mixed up!

Posts like this, which the majority of us can not understand, rather that motivating us to learn Gaelic, have the effect of making us wonder if that funny man Geordie wasnt on to something after all. Language is above all for communicating. You are not communicating!

A country without a language would also inconveniently be a country completely devoid of human beings, ie. not a country at all!
