I feel that he had a good analogy but there was a bad delivery of his idea. It comes off as him saying we should not help the poor so they cannot prosper and have children. I mean he has the freedom of opinion but if it is something that his constituents do not agree with then he is probably not going to get re-elected so I would not worry about that.

I mean if I had made that comment I would have said that people are like strays, because they are a product of their environment. If a stray got thrown out on the street I would not keep feeding it I would take it to someplace it could be helped. I’m not saying that we should put all the poor in one place. I think that care should be taken to ensure that they can get back on their feet and live a joyful life just like When you send a stray to the SPCA you send it in hopes that it will be taken care of so much that it can be adopted to a family and live a joyful life. I think that these programs are sometimes abused by a minority of people, but we should not punish everyone for the actions of a few. I think that with welfare its giving a lot of people a second shot at life that they would not have gotten if it was not there. When the auto industry started to fall out many unemployed used welfare not because they did not want to work but because they had no place to work in that field. Like a stray they have no control over the environment and bad things can happen that you cannot possibly have no control over (car industry trends).

I mean that everyone is where they are today because they were helped. Not necessarily by welfare but by someone other than yourself whether it is your family or a friend. I think that everyone deserves to have a second chance.

Just wow. I don’t understand why it took so long for this thing to be dealt with. If I were one of the players I would have walked away from the game. No person should go through this. I understand that they want to distract the players but not in this childish manner. I am happy that they are threatening to shut down entire soccer games because of the fans which gives them a incentive to keep their mouth shut and enjoy the game.

I found this very funny. How a person being spiritual can have such serious causes. I mean implication of being a highjacker is a drastic for a 17 year old kid for doing his morning prayers. It comes down to a case of mistaken ritual. The flight attendant had no clue what was going on so she told the captain and they decided to land and this kid was treated like a criminal for being a good follower. I think that this is BS but in this time and age you don’t want to have another highjacking take place so I guess it’s better safe than sorry.

I remember myself just in awe of the accusations made by Pat and Rush. First with Pat , I understand that he is old and he has his opinions on the subject but there is no reason that he should make such accusations based on his own personal biases. I have read the Bible from front to back and do not remember the slightest mention of the pact between the devil and the Haitians. I think it is preposterous that he is allowed to keep hosting that show. As a Christian he should have compassion and sympathy for what has happened. I think that him being a few cards short of a deck has no effect on the morals or competency of the producers of the show. But yet they allow him to stay on. Now with Rush, I don’t think that the Obama administration is helping Haiti to appeal to the “black and brown” Americans. I believe that the administration is helping Haiti because it is really close to home; we are able to send supplies fairly quickly to them. Now I can’t say for certain the reason why they are helping Haiti because I’m not a part of the Obama administration. I believe the reason for Rush thinking is the race of the president. I believe he is thinking this because it is the reason that will become the most apparent and Identifiable to the general public is the color of his skin.

Personally I think that we should help Haiti because we are in the position to. Now with that being said I don’t think that we should spread our selves thin. We have people in the United states who are starving and below poverty level. These people are starting to slip through the cracks. As a Society we need to make sure our own people are ok and living well before we start to worry by others.

I find that even though he sounded racist to most of us, to himself he did not. Harry was raised in a generation where it was socially acceptable to say the word Negro.
When it comes down to it he said these comments privately for only the parties involved to hear. Now I believe that this constitutes the statement as being his personal opinion. It is wrong of him judge Obama in such way but when it comes down to it there is no reason that he should be punished for a statement that does not directly affect his duties as a US senator to the state of Nevada. He gave his personal opinion in terms that he was raised with, Negro. I think that he did not try to verbally attack Obama. He was just giving his perspective on the possibility of him becoming president. Now I’m not trying to make excuses for him but maybe he was stating it in such a manner where the people he was having this conversation with would understand? Now even if he did intend this to be racist he still just stated his opinion and under the first amendment he has that right.

In my opinion the NSRC wants blood from this situation. They are turning this into an even bigger problem than it already is. With him gone they can try and put another republican into the senate. Now they are calling the comments from Reid insensitive because some people might be offended with his terminology. Now with that being said how will his truthfulness on the matter affect him being a good senator? When it comes down to it we all have all said things in Private that we should not have. But because we were stating our opinion it was justified and this situation would not be any different because even senators have the freedom of speech.
