The day after Super Bowl XL, USA Today published a respectful letter which pointed out 1) there were a significant number of identifiably bad calls 2) most of them were on game-breaking plays, and 3) they all went against the Seahawks. I was the author of that letter. If only two of the above points were true, perhaps I'd have been fine, but all three combined? I was not fine. Something was clearly not right.

Since they published my name, I received phone calls from Pennsylvania to California. One Pittsburgh fan said he was glad Pittsburgh won, but him and his buddies figured the game was fixed...against the Hawks. Another caller suggested I "start a national group" to protest the result.

The last straw was watching Bill Cowher's response after a reporter asked him about the poor officiating. His comment was something along the lines of "We got the trophy, that's all that matters."

Can't say I've watched much pro football since.
