I'm retired military.

the reality is that gays are serving in the military right now. This leads to a problem. Some come in and get training and serve as straight. When the going gets tough--assignment they don't want, etc, they come out of the closet and then ask for discharge and we lose out on the training dollars. Other than admitting their orientation and maybe that they lied, there are few consequences. Most say "I just came to this realization". So, let them serve BUT...we need to listen to the chiefs on this one, the realization is that this is a hugely PC issue and the branches need to be given the opportunity to put policies in place. I would especially be concerned about sexual harrassement policies. As they are currently written, they attempt to protect females. I can see there being a problem with "I just asked him out" and the "askee" feeling pressured. We have trouble navigating policy with heterosexual relations, I can assure you we are not prepared to deal with this for homosexual relations--the "card" will be thrown and PC will rule unless they get ahead of this.....

The Prez says: "I feel confident that when the American people hear a clear rationale for what we're doing there and how we intend to achieve our goals, that they will be supportive," he said.

What I hear: "I needed to get my spin doctors in the room with the war planners so we could pull out enough comments for me to assuage the liberal left. I am sure I can speak to them in a way where they will understand why I support the same war that Prez Bush did."

I am looking for a lawyer for a class action lawsuit. I am feeling pain and suffering--it is really adding up--cap and trade, cash for clunkers...if a dame can sue McDonalds for spilling hot coffee in her own lap, surely there is a lawsuit in here for me.....!
