Not profit - Shippings costs are up due to higher fuel costs, and the materials probably cost more. The company may make the same or less with the smaller roll.

Lots of stuff (potato chips etrc) are going from traditional sizes to smaller ones, shaving an ounce or two or a fraction here and there. I too am annoyed by this. They don't want to raise prices overtly so they change the size. So much for "no inflation." :P I always check the "per unit" cost on the right, to see whcih is really best, and respect the ones who keep traditional sizes a lot.

Looking at this video, it reminded me of the snow we usually get in Southern New Jersey. Kind of slushy on the windshield, a couple inches maybe, often wet. It usually disappears in a few days, too, as the temperature noses into the high 30s or 40s again. Of course we're getting bombed in southern NJ right now, about 16-18 inches where I am. Maybe it is a cyclical thing and it is like the 1970s. Maybe it is a 30 or 20+ year cycle.

The F-35 will not need catapaults. The British showed the world how to do that with the Harrier. The F-35 they put on that new carrier will be able to take off the same way. Jump ramp or straight up.

They think they will "make a deal" and that any external enemy can be used to help them gain power, a philosophy that started when the external enemy was Communism. The Left has been misguided since the fever dream alliance of Islamism and Marxism in Terror Groups of the 1970s (Think the joint European-Palestinian hijacking of the El Al plane to Entebbe in Uganda.)

Looks like nothing in common, so why team up? Unless the only common insterest is power, and the belief that a "deal" could get the coat riders here more.

There are some idiots to run to whoever is pissed at America and kiss up to them, even when those guys would be the first ones whacked by said group.

The islamists would whack their new supporters first, if you think about it. Then again Trotskyites never have been bright - they're always the first ones whacked whenever they get Maoists or Stalinists into power somewhere so this is the standard behavior I guess.

Has anyone else read Michael Crichton's "Airframe?" This incident sounds similar to the one in the beginning of that book. Of course, as with the book, finding out what caused it will be key. I hope the cause is found and honestly presented to the public so that the problem can be fixed.

I agree that Airbus autopilots have had major malfunctions in the past, but we have to analyze this bin depth. It was in 2008 so I hope they have found the cause.

I was going to say Blade Runner gets it in my book but someone remided me Das Boot also came out that year. I believe that won best Foreign Picture (It should have!)

So for me it comes down to those two. Blade Runner is the best US movie of a great year, Das Boot the best overseas one.

Get the rotenone. If they are in a limited area they can still be killed off before they spread. Doing that is far better than letting them spread and destroy entire habitats. Think rabbits in Australia.
