There are a few left, we just seldom see them, I might add that the Yankee states seem particularly devoid of them.
I grew up in the 50s and by no means was everything Leave it to Beaver land but there was a civility and sense of right v wrong that is missing today.

My dad always wore a hat, fur felt Sept.-May then Panama thru the summer, never wore it indoors always tipped it to a lady, of course he always rose and offered his seat to a lady and other manners that are now part of a bygone era.
