This is the most asinine excuse for an article I have ever read. On all points it is riddled with stupidity and base fear-mongering paranoia that has become the typical default response of the right, I mean, come on, propaganda? How about George W. Bush landing on an aircraft carrier in a flight suit? "Mission Accomplished?" Or, the famous George W. Bush "Turkey Dinner in Iraq with the troops" photo-op? The Karl Rove/Bush presidency was just one propaganda moment after another with zero substance. So Obama appears in a single moment in a video game...big deal. And the speech to elementary school children last fall? George H.W. Bush made a similar speech, carried nationwide, to all elementary schools who wished to carry it. There is nothing new here except a new idiotic level reached by Brietbart et al.

Fascism is the most misunderstood and abused word out there today, abused in particular by the Right. In truth, Fascism is a creature of the Right. In the early 20th century, the fascist movements of Germany and Italy rose via a call to the "folk" or people, claiming that the movement represented the "true roots" of their national identity. Sound familiar? It is inherently a creature of conservatism. It calls back to a better time in the past that never was, i.e. Nazi obsession with aryan and folk history within the German experience. Most often it created a jaundiced, altered vision of the past -one that never was. In this vein, the modern Tea Party and their obsession with an idealized 18th century America is a good example of comparison. Unfortunately, the historical "better" America that the Tea Party so claims to represent is mostly a fiction carved from modern misinterpretation. Fascism needs hate, it needs a foreign "other" to attack, it needs never ending war...these are the conditions it thrives; exactly the state of modern America brought to us by continual misrule from the Right. One final and not-the-least significant factor of fascism is hte alliance of corporate and political power. Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy were at their core kleptocratic -thieves rule- societies, where the ruling elite served essentially to rob and terrorize the general masses. Just because the word "socialism" was used in official party speak, does not mean these systems were socialist. They were far from it. Examine your history.

I am amazed at the depths of stupidity, willful ignorance, intolerance and hate that exists within the American Right. The rhetoric of Andrew Brietbart -a thuggish lout disguised as a "patriot"- and his tactics differ little from Weimar-German brown shirted fascists. Does anyone hear have any respect for civility, ethics, or a basic level of human decency? If you take two minutes and truly, critically examine the facts as they are today, rather than listen to a spiteful, shameless man like Breitbart, you might see that the true danger to this country lives on the Right and threatens your economic and personal security.
