Not question authority? I'm sorry, but that sounds like a communistic approach. Broke the Rules? I'm sorry, but I was under the impression that the investigation was dropped and there was no evidence found showing that he was guilty of the accusations. Right? The resignation? Yes! Would you want to work for a tyrant that treated you the way that this has been handled? This is not the first time these questionable occurances have happened in this district in recent years. Though we would love to keep Mr. Brittain, this is far bigger than him. We have a whole school district at stake. As far as Mr. Brittain goes he is a great guy and I am sure he will be OK. I have no doubt in my mind that he will easily be able to find a job elsewhere where he will not constantly need to stand up against a tyrany that conducts business the way it has been recently in this district. I am far more concerned about the district at this point... That's the whole point, we as the parents and community (and Mr. Brittain as well), ARE focused on education!!!

I believe they said 86% graduation rate, which is not 100% but is higher than the 70% of the new principal coming in next year. Not to mention that but for some reason this "field trip" seems to be catching most of everyone's attention and they are failing to mention the fact that he took it upon himself (without pay) to teach a zero hour chemistry class rather than trying to find a qualified teacher who would be willing to teach only one class a day... They don't come any better.

Oh and to the Puyallup School Board - I hope you are reading this. This is what so many speakers were talking about last night when they were talking about trust...

I am very disturbed by this story. This keeps being referred to as a student rally and keeps implying that the students were out of control fighting for their principal. I was there at the school board meeting (this is how we from Puyallup - particularly Rogers - refer to it). I have a child who is a student at Rogers and he was not even aware that the march for awareness would be going on, let alone the school board meeting. The only reason we ended up there in support of Mr. Brittain was due to an e-mail that I had received from other concerned parents and teachers. There were just as many adults involved in the march and present at the meeting as students. In addition, it was never intended to be a rally. Yes, the march was planned to promote awareness to the situation, but there had been much discussion ahead of time that this is a school board meeting and that this would be an opportunity to express opinions and get our voice across. I was very proud of how well the students conducted themselves throughout, and I don't appreciate how this story makes them appear to be disrespectful trouble makers. That was just not so. None of the protesting started until the board decided to stop listening to our concerns. The board cut us off. I wish people could have seen the whole picture.

Looks like was is the correct term. I'm guessing he will be voted out at first opportunity.

I, for one, wonder why this misuse of funds was not made public until now. And, forgive me, but I seriously doubt this alleged misuse of funds is greater than the amount of money he saved the district by teaching that zero hour class. I'm sorry, but I was one of many parents (and teachers) at the board meeting last night and what I saw happening was nothing like what was described in this news story. There was a lot of frustration in the room, but you could have heard a pin drop in that place while people were speaking. I was very impressed with how well people were handling the situation (including the students), until the school board decided to cut us off and not listen to any more. It was their choice to stop the meeting (apparently so that they could change the location). They refused to continue and left us with the impression that they would have to reschedule...
