There are some interesting facts posted on the comments on the Gazette site. I found interesting that the mayor flat out did not address the True North gift and associated back office deal that netted TN about 3.9M of L O S T money, of course packaged as flood recovery. On the ocassions that questions or statements like that came up last night the Y E S side did not address they just took the poor us tone and overstated the obvious.
I heard the mayor change his normal "i am better than you" tone during this forum to one of a pleading tone for the citizens to believe his plans. I have one question for them the flood plan as the mayor stated a few times last night was solely to protect the community and citizens. So I would like to ask what happens to everything south of Cargil east? If the flood protection stops right after Cargil then everything south will see more water than it did in 2008. Even though Mr. Corbett and the reat of the city leaders forget there is a neighborhood south of downtown there is.
Rick Smith will have no trouble sleeping any night he is always slanted to one side of every issue, once it was toward the citizens and now he too has fallen in step with the Corbett brigade
Local media and integrity should never be used in the same sentence. Throwing flood victims a bone with the personal possessions plan is great but this program had no checks and balances if you were flooded you got the money regardless of if you even lost anything in the flood.
I have to wonder if there is a direct link to the push to end trail whistles/horns through downtown all the way to Penford because the city manager lives at bottleworks.
Unfortunately there is no such thing in local politics, the County Super visors are the same way the conservative(s) votes along the lines with the liberals.
I agree and wonder the same thing when will Obama steps up and get off of the "I am trying to fix what they did" cycle.
