A true piece of work!! My suggestion is, when they get him , a mandatory 3 year enlistment in the USMC and a tour in the sand box.

Damm, Jim, One hell of a informative comment made by a VA employee. Sounds like the worm may be turning . Good news. Keep up the good work.

IMHO , That is the MOST important step a veteran make. Asking those who have walked the VA mile with success. The knowledge of the system known by many VA beneficiaries, in many cases is greater then( NO disrespect), the VSO . Every region ( even though its a federal agency), has a little different twist to the claims process. Waiting time, individual program knowledge( Independent Living Program), and many times, services available.

HI Jim,What is the VFVC? Must have missed that somewhere down the line. Anyway, my association , The Brotherhood of Dak To Defenders,( reunion group for the 299th CBT engrs) A Vietnam organization. Anytime and EVERYTIME we solicit funds we acknowledge we are a 501C-19 for tax exempt status and file our form 990 N every year with the IRS . Anyone want to donate I will gladly produce the IRS Tax ID #'s and make sure you receive the proper documents for your contribution come tax time. So what so difficult about that?? Seems like a NO brainer too me?? Maybe i'm lost in the woods !!

God bless him, He only waited 17 years. Luckily he alive to spend it..I have a close friend who I served with in the Nam who had a similar experience. After 8 years of appeals , remand back to the RO etc he received 189,000.00. A hell of a long wait but eternally grateful. and he deserves every cent .

Brothers, I am in the minority here, BUT I have had very good luck on information concerning my claims from the 1-800 #.However its been 8 years since I have used it. I actually had a bro who I got to know by calling and requesting him thru the Detroit office. He was a 70 % disable Nam vet and went the extra mile ( different computer screens) to help, and his info always was on the money!
