Dear Andrew: I hate it when I assume something and I am sure I am so much in the right, only to be knocked down a peg or two.
There are times when I do that, and my wife is present she will say "That was an assumption..."

If noting else as I have been taught (and re-taught) these lessons, I have found I tend to repeat these transgressions less frequently.
