An AP/GFK poll? Seriously? 1000 random adults with no effort to do any sampling? It's a "push poll" plain and simple. Why do you headline it and give it credibility?
1000 "adults"? Not "registered voters" or "likely voters"? No sampling of any kind? Every poll AP/GFK does is exactly like this, which is why they are never accurate and why the media often uses them as "push polls" to create the illusion for support of a Democratic issue that isn't there (just search their polls regarding Obamacare). But even if you give them the benefit of the doubt, to say only 37% support the protests is not impressive, and there is no mention of what percentage opposed them. Based on the history of this polling company, if they had surveyed "likely voters" it would probably show at least 50% opposed and 25% support, but they won't tell you that.
Another AP-GFK Roper poll? Look at the hard data behind the poll: they polled "1000 adults"... no attempt at sampling whatsoever. What sampling base did they use to determine D/R/I? (None) Did they call during the daytime hours? If so, how many of the 1000 were called between 9:00 and 3:00 during the day (which will end up contacting far more Democrats)? Is there any distinction between the "adults", like are they "registered voters" or "likely voters", or are they just the first 1000 people who answered the phone (which will also cause the poll to lean Democrat). I've been watching these AP-GFK polls for years and they are always significantly off to the left, and I'm pretty sure they know that. That's why their polls are often used as "push polls" to create the illusion of public support for an issue or a movement that just isn't there.
NOW he's concerned about polls and "the will of the American people"? Then why is Obamacare still in place?
THIS is the smartest president in the history of this country?
The IMF is run by socialists... what else would we expect them to say?
Being called an "idiot" by Susan Serandon is like being called ugly by a frog, like being called "lazy" by a union government worker. I take it as a badge of honor.
The Social Security Administration forces this game upon us where we have to make an initial application, wait at least three months to be denied, then appeal and wait another six months for another denial, then forcing us to hire an attorney which will end up costing thousands of dollars. This is the pattern most applicants have to go through, and its pathetic. In my lifetime I and my employers have put about $300,000 into Social Security under my "account" with the promise it would provide a supplement for me in my old age. But as I approach 60 years old and my health is failing, I have been unable to work for a year. My 17 prescriptions cost me over $300 a month in co-pays (all but one are generic) and I am on the verge of losing my credit rating and my house. In the meantime, Social Security plays this game and makes people like me wait and go through paperwork and appeals and expenses while we cash in our retirement and try to survive until they get around to me. Its almost like they are hoping I'll die before the claim is approved. Well, the way they're going, I just might.
For full disclosure, I must say first that I have no enthusiasm for supporting Eddie Long because of the "prosperity gospel" he preaches, that seems to have enriched him better than anyone else in his church. But staying strictly on the accusations themselves, I have to say that I am more than skeptical... the man is rich, he is a well-known pastor of a large wealthy church, and those facts alone make him a relatively easy target for these kinds of allegations by slimy lawyers out to make a buck. Just "restored memory" or "it happened when I was little and I was too afraid to say anything" won't cut it here... these guys better have pictures and DNA of Long or I won't believe it.
Randomly generated phone numbers? No data on scientific sampling methods? No distinction between likely voters, registered voters, leaners, etc.? Are they TRYING to insult our intelligence? Was this taken by the same people who did the Daily Kos polls? Or is it another "push poll" to create the illusion of popular support for an unpopular idea? Sorry, after reading this I need to go take a shower...
