Barry is, at a minimum, standing against the institutions of Honduran society that protect their Constitution. Like Iran and N. Korea, his naivete is showing and represents a real threat to US interests in the region.

You are making the same mistake as those who believed GWB was an idiot, and didn't make decisions. Far from it, he was twice elected to the governor's office of a large state, cut taxes, launched the surge etc. Like him or not, he was his own man. So too is Obama. Setting aside his personality, he does not like America as it is currently constructed. What he wants is very dangerous indeed.

As to weapons, DC has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country, and VA -- directly across the river -- has some of the most free. So VA has the highest murder rate, and DC the lowest, right? Nope, just the opposite. The answer lies elsewhere. Don't underestimate the power of freedom, and the obligations that come with it. Mexico and Latin America have long had political corruption and the resulting violence, poverty and misery. Sad, but hardly the US' fault. We are not perfect, but the people of Central America were far better served by the democratic institutions installed by the US than the leftist ones in place by Chavez, Castro, Morales etc. Take a deep breath and love your country. As much as it may piss you off, we are the good guys.
