Many of the "terrorists" appear to be young, smoke pot, listen to popular music, have families, go sightseeing, etc. Sounds like they have more in common with typical Americans than any religious extremist.

Andrew's post reminded me of someone who ran around screaming at the top of his lungs for years that "2 + 2 = 5," only to finally acknowledge error when the evidence piled high above his nose, only to then announce that he was intellectually and morally superior to those who all along said that "2 + 2 = 4," because they haven't been willing to "change" their thinking and he has.
