Unfortunately this is the nature of international business. As Twitter and others penetrate further and further into foreign markets they will adopt increasingly strict regulations on how their services are used (tweet content in this case) by individuals across different markets. The end result will be the eventual watering down of these services into shadows of what they used to be. Censorship is a cancer both difficult to treat and impossible to dismiss. Sad to see Twitter going down that road.

Every other violent or extremest organization on this planet is criminalized and called out for exactly what they are, and suppressed by police or military action. Black & Hispanic street gangs, on the other hand, are allowed to operate largely unhindered. It's sad to see that Britain suffers from the same problem (I'm an American).

It shouldn't take a murder to provoke police to round up street gangsters for fear of further violence -- this is what they do. Instead, the gang/thug culture that has flourished over the last 30+ years needs to be assaulted from every angle, just like we've done with every other violent, and inherently malevolent sub-culture that has reared its ugly head over the last 150 years.

The KKK was cast into social oblivion, as was Nazism and, recently, religious extremism. The gang culture that has been spreading across the U.S. and Britain is the exact same social monster -- it's just in a different wrapper this time. In fact, I'd venture to say that it represents even more of a danger in America today than the KKK ever did. If decisive action is not taken like it was before, when leaders had the balls to stand up for values and character, this is going to grow into a beast that can only be put down with further bloodshed.

This is the truth. The MSM almost makes me ashamed to be an American with the way they parade around Jesse Jackson & others while turning a completely blind eye to people who are actually trying to point out and solve some of these problems. The U.S. government has been running a puppet show for quite some time and the media has had a staring role.

The problem is that the vast majority of the people he leads are incapable of making the connection. If they could, half of them would not be in the situations that they are in today and the other half would be actively correcting their course. It's only further exacerbated by the immunity they are granted by the inane social codes that seem to be popular right now (i.e. how any criticism of the black population necessitates racism). Until people (including other leaders) step up and start challenging these crooks en mass, they're going to have free reign to lead their flocks to whatever God-forsaken pastures they choose and the sheep will be none the wiser.

This (Ms. Rather's argument) more or less falls in line with popular thinking. That is, if something isn't working than it must be because it (a) isn't receiving enough funding or (b) isn't expansive enough.

I live right between a Publix, Kroger, and Food Depot. The area is very mixed economically with lower, middle, and upper class neighborhoods (including section 8 housing) are all being within 2 miles of one another. When I go shopping for groceries, the people most often buying big-ticket items in bulk are the people using food stamps. Individuals who can somehow afford data & texting plans for their smartphones yet remain strapped for cash when it comes to food & other basic expenses. Meanwhile, it's the so-called racist "rich" who I see consistently stretching their dollar to its maximum value in the checkout line. ...And they are the ones who've got the problem? I think not.

The problem is, like many others have stated, that the current food stamp eligibility requirements and regulations are woefully inadequate. They do absolutely nothing to curve the problem at the heart of the matter, which is the behavior of long-term food stamp users. Instead, the current system only encourages these individuals to remain both unprioritized and financially illiterate by eliminating any real consequences to their decisions.

Pointing this out and attempting to reform a mismanaged and broken program isn't racism. It's problem solving. Furthermore, if you're going to pull the race card on every critical mind who sees inadequacy in current programs & policies, at least take a look in the mirror and acknowledge that most entitlement proponents aren't helping either. Our so-called leaders in Washington and certain state governments ramble on all the time about how minorities and the poor desperately need the tax payer's help, even in good times. When's the last time they actually encouraged these very same people to rise up as individuals and take command of their situations? Not too often. If you're going to call foul, call it on the people who've turned poverty into a birth defect, not the people who are trying to address the heart of the matter.

I never could get past the gap in reasoning of the UFO hunters out there: Aliens can travel across the galaxy but don't have the medical technology to examine a specimen without sending it back all fouled up.

So essentially, the lesson is this:

1. It is wrong for you to willingly spend your own money to prolong your life or someone else's life once deemed terminally ill.
2. It's alright for the government to take that money and, instead, use it how they see fit.
3. If you want to blow thousands of dollars for a few more days on this god-forsaken rock, thats reprehensible.
4. If the government wants to blow billions of dollars handing out mulligans to every lie, cheat, and crook who still breathes air, you just gotta do what you gotta do.
5. If you value something enough to sacrifice everything you have to hold on to it just a bit longer, you are a selfish SOB.
6. If the government wants to sacrifice anything you could ever have, thats cool because it's for the betterment of mankind.

This stuff is too crazy to make up! Somebody pinch me so I can escape the Voodoo Galaxy and return to the real world.
