Steven,

I didn't know that you went through Dave's school. I'd love to be able to do that.

I'm enjoying her book a lot; very practical guidance, and it's giving me a lot of good ideas and making me stop and think about how poorly I normally listen.

Ah, you're right, Diedre! I was placing too much stock in the YouTube title for the video. That's a lot of difference, I agree!

Yeah, I love that about Nouwen. His book on leadership, In the Name of Jesus, should be required reading for all Christian leaders, especially pastors.

Heck, Colleen, I'd be happy to give you a reading list, all the stuff I want to read but haven't gotten to :). Also I have some GREAT books that just got sent to me but are dupes. I'll bring a little pile next weekend.

Good, I hope you enjoy it, Tess! I haven\'t read Peck before but really want to; I\'ll check into that too.

Thanks for the comment, Tess. I think it's 'definitely' also; I think that the countercultural, spiritual rhythms of monasticism are deeply important for us in the rat race.
