Drill HERE, Drill NOW (especially in the High Plains of the Dakotas) and use the money to pay down the deficit!
How do "We the People" enact changes to the Constitution? Seems to me our forefathers left much room for the individual States to have a voice in the way our Federal Goverment works. If so, should we be marching on our State Capitols, and our Congression Officials offices? Since most of Congress are concerned with their "political agendas" how can we stop the madness before we get to the next election? ____We absolutely need...__Term Limitations for Congress__Define Separation of Powers to include undue Political and Financial coercion__Limit Executive Branch Powers on private business sector__Limit Congressional Spending and Voter Approved pay increases for elected officials __Amend Constitution to Demand a Balanced Budget every three years____Amendment to Constitution for Congressional Integrity to limit committee involvement__?based on elected officials investments__?on accepted campaign contributions__?on family involvement in industry____We have to do something and NOW. It feels as if the far left have steam-rolled their way into ruining this nation and they are out of control and we are trying deperately to stop them...with no voice.__
I agree with term limits.
I also think that if a Representative or Senator has investments, gets campaign contributions, or has relatives in a particular industry - i.e. mortgage banking, alternative energy, etc. - they should not be permitted to sit on a committee that deals with regulating or writing bills for that industry - i.e Freddie/Fannie, Energy Committee, etc - as it is a conflict of interest.
There are other ways to keep key people in place when the economy is as bad as it is. Why not offer them a reasonable raise, or additional vacation days, or even paid medical benefits (if they don't already have them). Why does it have to be thousands or tens of thousands of dollars. That to me is unreasonable and arrogant. I don't care how valuable they might be, no one is indispensible.
