You can't cover John Wooden w/o mentioning his faith in Christ. He said, "I have always tried to make it clear that basketball is not the ultimate. It is of small importance in comparison to the total life we live. There is only one kind of life that truly wins, and that is the one that places faith in the hands of the Savior."

Whether someone is Christian, Buddhist or anything else, why can't the media cover someone's life w/o trying "hide" or not mention what was most important to them? Especially when that person said it over and over. In an age where people always find those who don't live out their faith, John was one who did and it was what shaped him as a person.

He was a great man!

This case has stuck with me and one of the saddest most deplorable things I've ever seen. These two creeps deserve death and stoning would be preferred, not only for what they did, but then killing her cruelly. The mom should go to jail as well. It's obvious why the girl slept in the car and was always at church early...attending on her own. She was trying to get away.
She is in a better place and I pray that the justice system would seek to deter/punish these criminals rather than "habilitate."

Technology is neutral. But we are growing even more superficial as a society as it is. This by definition IS superficial. It may be the most appropriate piece of technology to be used by the multi-site cult-of-personality driven church.

It's a sad story to be sure. It would be nice if we could make the world perfect for everyone. I don't say that sarcastically, but it would be nice. There's only so much the gov't can do. When there's less $$ coming in you have to make cuts. There's no end to the good things we could do if money were no obstacle, but it is.

Jay is doing the best he can w/o putting us in a massive debt. If you look at states that have already gone in to massive amounts of debt you'll see their programs are really having major problems b/c they never exercised responsibility. When the economy is bad everyone suffers. Prayers for all affected and hope things turn around so we can help more.

Don't worry maybe you'll pass your screenings. This isn't about freedom, it's about who gets the money that has been taken from others (freedom, you say?). IF someone wants to use drugs...they don't need my money for it.

I'm a Repub. but think Nixon is doing a good job. Conservative Dems are so much better than the liberal ones. Don't forget the good job Republican legislators are doing! It was a Republican legislature that balanced the budget for Clinton. They have to work together to do that.

I love the mindset that many people have. If you make money at it, it must be ok. Doesn't organized crime use that excuse? Let's just make everything legal so everyone can make $$ doing anything. I mean, those poor pornographers who could lose out on exploiting women.

Yeah...people can keep an eye on everything their kid does 24-7 and anytime the kid does something...it's the parents fault.

In the real world that doesn't work and doesn't happen. Many don't even watch their kids. So, let's have one more chemical kids can use to escape life! We're going to have such a better world.
