We have created a society in which human touch is considered harassment and that is a sad outcome of our modern norms. That explains why the US is considered such a lonely country where people die alone with no one around to comfort them with an embrace or human touch. There is a difference between human touch and sexual assault but in our society we do not distinguish between these two. No wonder our children and senior citizens are depressed because there is no one who wants to hold their hand when they need a hug or simply an arm around their shoulder. I envy the Mexican community because men embrace men and children are loved through human touch. A sad tale of our society indeed!
If McKenna allows her to stay that says a lot about his willingness to allow racism among his staff to remain unchecked. She has to go!
Yeah, like the freedom to be gun down by some punk who purchased several guns legally, and the freedom to worry about my family's safety because my neighbor owns an arsenal of guns and the freedom of not knowing if I or my wife or my kids will be killed by some crazy guy shooting at innocent victims in schools, cafes and on our street. Are you advocating for our children to carry guns into their schools too?
Guess what? our freedoms are not what you think. And the third world you mention is not what you think, there are almost 200 countries in the world and not everyone wants to come here. In fact, US retirees leave the US by the thousands each month. Mexico alone has about 1 million US citizens who live in Mexico freely and they are very happy and over 5 million US citizens live abroad excluding the military. So, stop telling yourself and the rest of us that the US is the land of milk and honey because it isn't and the stress of not knowing when an idiot with a legal gun will use it against me or my family is enough for me to want to leave.
More guns, more guns!! Thank you NRA for giving these punks the freedom to own guns and shoot to kill. The free society we live in is more dangerous by the day because the principle of gun ownership is more important than public safety and sanity. The US has become a dangerous country and foreign visitors are more concerned each day about travelling to this "wild west" country. Wake up and realize that our society is no better than Mexico or Beirut. In fact I am thinking of relocating to another country with gun restrictions.
I am 100% with the homeowners' association in this case. When the owners bought the house they did so fully aware of the existance of rules and they signed papers saying they agree and they were given copies to read. Of course they need to check with the association first before making any significant changes. If they and you don't like rules, then buy your house elsewhere. You can't change horses in mid-race and think it is ok. Regardless of the safety issue there are rules that apply to all neighbors. They bough the farm and they are free to sell it again and buy somewhere else. Sorry!
The NCAA is also part of the problem. In fact they are the problem. They will not do anything that could impact their million dollar salaries.
And the NCAA with their $2 million a year salary president won't do anything that could impact their salaries and perks. Yes I am talking about Mark Emmert who used to make $1 million at UW (and the Seattle sports fans never questioned why a public service official made so much money). College sports is the same everywhere in the country even here in Seattle.
The same would happen here in Seattle. College football is bigger than any concerns for a few members of the community and fans are so blind to wrongdoings by football players and coaches that they will look the other way. It is the reality of a sport crazy society. In addition money always talks louder (at least for a decade or so)
Viva the NRA! The access to guns in the US makes our country a dangerous place to live. More fights, more guns, more tension, more killings. And we talk about Mexico? I am laughing but I am also worried about the guns my neighbors have.
So, you say people work for things, like seniors who collect more social security than they ever put in? or the children of the wealthy who didn't work for the millions they have inherited? And what entitles the rich to pay less taxes as a percentage of their income than the hard working people of this country? Please, give me a break and either see the reality or if you are a rich-publican keep defending your right to keep more than the rest of us.
